Draisaitl did not beat around the bush with his frustrations

  1. Jarry is always trash in the second half of the seasons. So glad the Penguins were able to move him

  2. The defensive performance in front of Jarry against Pittsburgh was one of the worst I’ve ever seen.

  3. At the time I thought the Jarry trade was catastrophic for Edmonton and would cost them the season and possibly McDavid. I still do. Edmonton gave up a lot of pieces to get worse in goal…just a terrible choice all around. But the coaching problems Draisatl lays out are also a personnel problem, as is the lack of a reasonable bottom 6. At some point all these problems come back to the GM’s office. Could also explain why they failed to lock McDavid into a longer contract.

  4. Yall need to stop acting like Skinner is some kind of franchise saving savior goalie when compared to Jarry. They’re both good and bad inconsistent goalies. Skinner didn’t get them a Cup either.

  5. “BuT eVrYoNE uSeD tO sAY FLeURy WaS sWiSs cHeEse, ItS nOt ThE gOaLiE”

So glad we got rid of that contract. Just wait for the middle of the ice pass that’s gonna keep the Oilers from getting to the cup finals this year.

  6. Jarry is playing like Jarry, and Skinner has been playing like Skinner the last couple games. They are both hot and cold, inconsistent goalies. Edmonton’s defensive structure just happens to be worse* than ours I believe.
Luckily Stu will be gone this offseason, and we can start bringing up our young studs who are dominating in the AHL.

  7. Pens defensive scheme may not be the second coming of the NHL {Steel Curtain}, but, imo, it’s light years better than the Oilers.

Let’s be honest, a lot of this year’s success (and the year is hardly over) is a combination of many players achieving at a rate higher than expected, a new coach, and a GM who is going to get his number blocked by other GMs if he keeps doing what he is doing.

Naysayers can claim “smoke and mirrors”, but the proof is on the ice.

If you had told Pens fans, “Hey, at the Olympic break, you’re gonna be second in the metro, with two games in hand on the third-place team, AND you got rid of Jarry’s contract”, we would’ve had that person drug tested.

  8. Not to shit on Jarry because it’s the Oilers in general but there is zero accountability in that lockerroom outside of maybe McDavid.

Jarry said the guys in front of him didn’t do enough last week. This week Draisaitl says the goalie isn’t doing enough. Just sounds like a mess. Stu took responsibility for the loss.

  9. That has to be so frustrating to be a player of his caliber, coming so close to the cup the last two seasons, and finding yourself at this position nearly 3/4 of the way through the season.
