It really only makes sense for him to stay on to recoup his trade value
We need him for next season, I think in the summer we’re gonna try fill in our holes by acquiring whatever we can. No point trading Kyrie when you don’t have your picks. With AD that was different since he was a huge contract weighed against our cap and barely played. Now in FA we might actually get a nice piece to slot around coop and Kyrie.

Not sure how/why anyone would have thought differently. Nothing about Kyrie’s desire to remain with the Mavs has ever been tied to AD being a Mav so not sure why it would start to all of a sudden. Is he bummed he won’t get to actually play with AD in the end? I’m sure, but he’s a professional and grown adult lol he’s not gonna stomp his feet and have a temper tantrum about it.

I would keep Kyrie at least until summer. If we’re lucky and get Peterson or Flemings, then we could actually trade Kyrie (for key assets) and completely rebuild around Flagg, Peterson/Flemings, Christie, and Lively. Otherwise, Kyrie is welcome to stay in Dallas. He has always behaved impeccably and has won our hearts!

We all love us some Kyrie. We get it, guys. But it’s best that he gets traded. Not sure what he would fetch but we got the ball rolling with AD finally gone. We gotta build upon that imo.
If only there was a way to re-unite Luka and Kyrie, so the *hermanos* can play together again. Flagg, Luka and Kyrie would be a deadly trio. I just don’t know if the Mavs could get Luka without demolishing the roster.
