Happy Heavenly Birthday, Hank! I bet the baseball games up there are crazy!
🔨
HBD Hank. Gonna need an asterisk next to the 2nd in Home Runs. Hank is the home run King
He’s first in home runs without an asterisk.
Hammerin’ Hank should always be the ultimate legacy of the Braves. He is the man who proved this game is equal.
*”A Black man is getting a standing ovation in the Deep South for breaking a record of an all-time baseball idol. What a marvelous moment for baseball. What a marvelous moment for Atlanta and the state of Georgia. What a marvelous moment for the country and the world.”*
I met him in 2011 — legendary man and so kind with his time.
I don’t care what anyone says about mays or Ruth or whatever.
If I’m building a team, my round 1 pick is Hank Aaron batting second and playing right field.
I worked for the Braves in the early 2000s and I went to Cooperstown for the Maddux/glavine/cox induction. On saturday night, the Braves had a team dinner for everyone associated that was in town and I got to go.
I ended up at a table sitting between Bobby and Hank (Bobby grabbed me and brought me over to introduce) with bud selig on the other side of Hank. Aaron told stories for an hour.
It was the greatest thing ever.
755-1st
The team should be renamed the Hammers. At least then we’d get a decent mascot.
Great ballplayer. Damned fine human being.
If hes not top 3 on any GOAT list then that list is a joke.
All without steroids
Incredible player who lived an incredible life. And also an incredible human being. I highly recommend his autobiography: *I Had a Hammer: The Hank Aaron Story*
If you take out every home run, he’d still have 3000 hits.
The difference in him and no. 2 total bases (Pujols) is the same as the difference between no. 2 and no. 10.
He has 11 seasons with at least 38 homeruns.
He played his entire career through intense racism and death threats and not only put up incredible, consistent numbers but was a stand up guy the whole time.
Beautiful man with a beautiful swing
Getting really fucking sick of the haters saying “But he cheated too! You ever heard of greenies?”
“You mean, the one he freely said he took and thought was going to kill him? Yeah, *just like* Bonds and roids. You got me!”
What I would give to see him and Eddie Mathews hit HRs live in the same game.
