Stop talking Rich.. you have no idea what you are talking about. You need to educate yourself on the modern NBA and it's cap/aprons and such.
5 second round picks essentially
Washing gave up NO picks. Those picks came from Golden St and OKC
Good example of why national commentators need to stick to tabloid gossip. Out of their depth commenting on actual team specific economics.
So ownership has nothing to do with getting ld out of dallas.
1. The wizards didn't give up any of their own picks.
2. They didn't trade any of their young core players(3 players are in the Rising stars game)
Man they knew they were getting Cooper Flagg when they traded Luka lets not act slow
Streetclothes Davis, nothing will change.
Wiz arent trading own picks. They gave Dallas OKC first round pick this year which will be last pick or 2nd last in first round and top 20 protected warrior.pick in 2030 that can convert to 2nd round. It basically 5 second round picks. Not saying Wiz are gonna win next year or following year but they gave up very little for AD and Trae.
how are people who work for the premier sports network completely uninformed about the trade and the particulars. they traded other teams 1st round picks (which are essentially fringe 2nd rounders), not their own
They didn't trade any of there own picks fools , get your facts straight before you speak on air please
The Covid season didn't help Bron, it helped Davis. A lot.
All 2 games he’s healthy for them he’ll be great
wizards traded the OKC first they owned, not their own.
Rich want them nba $ he will never admit mav knew they getting flag😂😂😂😂 till he retire
Look I’m so tired of this bs we all know what’s really going on with the NBA the NBA the Lakers knew that they were about to end the run with a blunt in a year or two B&B doesn’t want their marquee franchise and have a marquee star on the team in to go down, so what do they do? They make a deal with Dallas who’s not toy crazy with going Luca where they will make sure that Dallas gets the first pick if they will trade Luca to the Lakers, this was under the table move, and now the wizards, which is usually the dumping ground of the head once again been spun in to take another awfully injured NBA veteran and an oversize salary. Give me a freaking break. The wizards are how many generations are the wizards gonna be chosen to be the dumping ground organization for other teams back contracts, and also injured players.
Damn…I remember hyping up Anthony Davis in Dallas, not even a year later and he’s gone
"They basically trade Luka for . . ." is the lowest hanging fruit way to talk about this trade. EVERYONE already agrees the Luka trade sucked. You're not breaking f'ing news.
Mavs are doing what they can to rebuild after that disaster. This is a good step. Mavs were a second-apron team this year and next. Now, they're under all tax penalties.
They traded a great player who was available 1/3 of the time they had him for 60+m in cap flexibility, replaced the 2nd rounders Nico had given away, and got at least one late first to either add an inexpensive young player or sweeten a trade. (Does the 7th pick + 30th + Gafford get you into the top 5? Top 3?)
They had close to zero options to improve team, now they have enough flexibility to dip into Giannis talks if they want.
Dallas fucked up by blowing this team up.
Ain't no team in the NBA would have wanted to face a healthy AD, Kyrie, Flagg, PJ, Flagg, and 2 headed center.
Reason why I careless about sports.
These guys really don’t know much
Listen they were never gonna get equal value for Anthony Davis. He’s injury prone. He may play at best 50% of the year what the Mavericks did was 100% correct just get whatever you can basically draft picks that are convoluted a few decent players I like Chris Middleton. I think he’ll do nice with the Mavericks and just leave it like that.
This guys an idiot
Man…Anthony Davis must suck. His career is over by the way.
Mavericks new owners didnt want to pay Luka's extension so they used Nico as a fall guy to get rid of him. They want to move to Vegas and are dropping contracts on purpose.
WIZARDS HAVE the pick top 8 protected
The Mavs with AD were already cooked this year. We're planning on trying to get a high lottery pick
Don’t fool yourself. The league promised the Mavs the 1st overall pick to trade Luka for nothing. If you add in Flagg the trade isn’t bad. No way they’d be in the lottery with Luka to get chance to draft Flagg.
Wizards building a play-in contender.
Corrupt nba, lebron paid off nico harrison under the table to get Luka. NBA supported the trade without any other nba team given a chance to bid for Luka
Rich whines too much who cares
u cant rely on ad, he's always hurt.
The Luka Trade will haunt Nico Harrison now that A.D only lasted 1 year with the Mavs. Such a waste and Mavericks' fans deserved better. Luckily, Cooper Flagg is having quite the rookie year
NBA just feels like a clown show at this point…
Terrible analysis here
Three first round picks three second round picks and don’t forget about Max Kristy who has averaged three points more after he came to Mavericks and then five points more this year and has blossom. I wouldn’t doubt he’ll be a 20 point scorer next year.
The guy saying Flagg was part of the Luka trade is a fireable offense. Can you just lie to viewers
I look at it as little like Brockman, as if the Mavericks just flipped whatever they got from LA and this is the true return for Luka, BUT, they used their own pick on Flagg. That was not part of the return for Luka. Sure, they ended up in the lottery because AD got hurt which, ahm, no one could predict, and if Luka was still there he might've carried the team out of the lottery, but Nico doesn't get credit for that and for winning the draft lotter with 1.5% chance.
For Dallas, they now reset their timeline to fit with Flagg's timeline. They can follow the same path the Warriors did for their dynasty, the same path OKC followed to become the #1 team right now. They have their star and now can surround him with young talent on rookie contracts. We'll see if it works out. Chasing aging stars definitely didn't.
1:33 I think Brockman may be suspicious of the lottery choosing the Mavs too…..and might have a point ??
