  1. This is why I put zero stock in the Heyman Valdez to Toronto notion. Toronto doesn't need a Valdez at his price point. Toronto needs a healthy Santander and to deal Berrios

  2. As an O's fan I'm disappointed. I don't know the details so I can't say I'm mad at Elias and the team cause I don't know the offer or the negotiations, but geez, pretty sure we could've given him that money. Who could the O's sign now, if we even try to atp. Zac Gallen? Giolito? Is our rotation competitive the way it is now? Ugh, this season is so stressful and it hasn't even started yet.

  3. this feels more like a short term insurance on Skubal leaving for me:

Yeah they don't have any rush on trading him, but I will not expect on keeping him and losing him for nothing.. It maybe they will hold on Skub until the correct prospect package goes by before the trade deadline, if not he would be shipped at the deadline with a mix of MLB ready and prospects to keep the year afloat

  4. I think this is a “we won’t be able to retain Skubal next year, let’s make a real move at the world series this year” kind of move

  5. Now the Skubal battle begins between the Dodgers and Mets. Both have the money to extend him to 350.-400 million deal and both have a ton of prospects with the Dodgers ranking number one and the Mets top 10

  6. ever since Scott Harris was hired the Tigers front office is borderline leakproof it's genuinely impressive atp, it's why I haven't taken any of the Skubal trade rumors seriously at all all offseason, because I guarantee if our writers and people in the clubhouse have no way of knowing what's going on random boras shills like Buster Olney sure as hell doesnt

  7. Tigers had zero pitching besides Skubal to withstand the Jays lineup in a 7 game series if they somehow made it in a short 5 game series against the Mariners. Mariners too were extremely fortunate to quickly go up 2-0 in that series after the Kays coming off a layoff after hammering the Yankees. That series would not have gone 7 otherwise.

  8. Skubal should get paid 3X as much as this guy. I laught a people that were predicting 45 mill per season AAV for him 😂. He can get north of 60 AVV on a long term deal if Framber got 38 😂😂😂😂

  9. This is the biggest "Who Cares" move. The Tigers, without Skubal? Skubal's value will NEVER be higher. 2 seasons of control? Or 1? Framber ain't gonna like that cold weather. He's from the Tropics, and spent 6 years in Texas.

  10. The Tigers are going to pay Framber about 20 mil a year too much. Sure he's good for getting 6 innings pitched just about every game he plays. The truth about him is that in alot of those 6 innings he has what we call a Framber meltdown. That's when he gives up to 5 runs in one of those innings he pitches and the Astros offense was not good enough too make up for it. The simple way of getting him in the meltdown mindset is to bunt the ball too him. Framber Valdez is the worst fielding pitcher in the history of the MLB. As far as the playoffs because he's a mental midget and cannot handle the pressure, he has always been even more terrible. Tiger fans will soon find out that Valdez is far from being an Ace pitcher and just another overpaided player not worth his contract.

  11. I think you’re gonna start to see a shift in the AL… yankees clear shot to get the world series was the last two years but now, tigers, orioles, blue jays, red sox, maybe mariners, i think are now better than the yankees. Yankees have great pitching but by the time those pitchers come back, where will they be? And when they do come back, there not maxing out at 100 pitches a game when they come back. To me this was a good move and he woulda been signed sooner if he didnt have some concerns like crossing up his pitcher. Tigers are going for it with the 1-2 combo, i like it 🤙🏻
