the O’s current rotation will land them last in the AL East. Sad
Wait. Let me get this straight. The Orioles now are only 10 wins better than last season, where they had lost 1/2 their team to injury and traded the team away at the trade deadline.
Universally, the world expects better from Henderson, Ruschtman, and the further development of Holliday. They added a big bopper in Ward. A huge bopper in Alonso. Hopes are high that Basillo meets expectations. O'Neill is healthy. Westburg is healthy. They have a ton of ready-to-contribute depth to chip in when needed; they didn't have that last season. The rotation has a healthy Rodgers, a healthy Bradish, a high-upside Shane Baz, and a HEALTHY Zac Eflin (write him off if you want to, but baseball insiders do not), and serviceable back-end starters. So all of that is 10 games to you? We're just talking on paper here, not even the insanity of baseball, where a team like Kansas City wins the whole thing when on paper, they were origami!
BTW I got my wish. He was signed by an NL team, so I won't frequently hear the name "Framber" anymore. Thank goodness.
Connor, thanks for the update on Brandon Young. Hopefully he continues to progress as a pitcher in ‘26. As excited as I am that we’re a week away from Spring Training, I’m just disappointed that we didn’t secure that one last “chip” for the starting rotation. I realize we may go after Giolito, and we might try to secure one last trade with another team, but it just seems our pitching is lacking one more strong piece. I was hoping for Gallen, but it now seems he’ll probably go back to AZ or land with Philadelphia (his hometown team growing up in NJ). On the flip side, I’m really excited for the new coaching staff and that EVERYONE is finally healthy. So much potential…missing only one more pitcher…. GO Os!!!
