  1. I just got this email too !!!

I love my boys but that flight would kill me I can’t sit that long

  2. Super cool that the nfl just decides we don’t get to play our biggest rival at home this year.

  3. I thought it was suppose to be the Eagles facing them in Australia but a rivalry game will be fun too.

  4. So dumb that a huge division game will be in Melbourne. Only positive is that all that Levi’s South bullshit won’t be a thing.

  5. Sucks they have to go all the way out there, but glad this is the game/team they chose

  6. This is trash, I hate that we are being sacrificed our home game smh 🤦‍♂️ one less game I’m able to go to

  7. Are we sure we are the home team? Schefters tweet didn’t mention which team was home.

  8. Man I want to go so bad but checking flight prices and they’re around $1500. Not including tickets, hotels, etc…

  9. This is disappointing… Of all the teams we host our biggest rival in another country… smh.

  10. Cool and it’s at the MCG where my favorite Aussie rules football team, Collingwood plays their home games!

  11. It’s the opener and it will be played on Friday, Saturday local time.

    I don’t get this…usually international games are followed a bye…in week 2?

It was just announced so I guess more details to follow.

Edit: I heard it was the opener from KNBR, the Niners Flagship station. So take that with a grain of salt. I just can’t see the NFL scheduling a 16 – 19 hour flight with no following bye week. The jet lag is always worse in the back end.

  12. Well, I assume this will either be the Friday week 1 game or the game before both teams bye weeks, because I can’t see how they would deal with the time/travel difference otherwise without screwing both teams over.

Also, find it funny the NFL gives Australia a premiere rivalry game for its debut and stuck France with its debut as Saints-Browns.

  13. Rams fan from Sydney, Australia here. When and how can I get tickets? I would really love to go.

  14. No Whiner fans allowed but still I guess this may have been strategic to deny Whiner fans from trying to buy all the tickets lol

But damn this game should always be in LA. If it were me I would have sent the Giants to play.

  15. Guys, WAKE UP

    This is great news

In LA it’s all Niners fans, you’ve seen the stands/crowd

Better for it to be away I guess, less Niners fans

  16. Not against international games as a former EU fan. But wth they pick a division game is beyond me. If it were against the baseball team I would have been more understanding.

  17. This is absolute fucking bullshit. We have one of the toughest schedules in the league again. And they just get rid of one of our home games against a rival? Gonna make us fly 15 hours? It’s just bullshit.

Our schedule is an absolute gauntlet. We just had a long season. Why do we have to go to Australia? Send someone else

  18. So that’s another home game that gets taken away. Great. If you wanted to do this, hav them be the road team against an AFC team. Losing a home game because of this is just bullshit.

  19. This is the rams sticking the 🖕🏼 to STM who sell the rams-niner home game away at sofi to niner fans

  20. Why are we always “hosting” games in different countries? Mexico City. London. Now this. Steals a true home game from us each time.

  21. Anyone have an estimate on ticket prices? Really want to go to this one but trying to evaluate the cost of it.

  22. For anyone who hasn’t been, Melbourne is a fantastic place to visit and the MCG is a grand, old, historic stadium – home to several AFL (Australian Football League) clubs, the AFL Grand Final (the Aussie Rules version of the Super Bowl) every year, and cricket. I was able to see Collingwood-Hawthorn (AFL) and Wallabies-All Blacks (rugby union) on back to back nights a few years ago and it was truly awesome. There’s easy tram service from the CBD (Central Business District/downtown) or you can just walk.

I cannot recommend enough taking this opportunity to visit Melbourne if you’re able. I’d go but already have a couple big trips planned this year so it’s just not going to work out for me.

  23. Well, at least we won’t have to hear about “Levi’s South” for this upcoming season. So sick and tired of hearing that.

  24. This is to punish the niner fan season ticket holders who sell all their tickets except this game and show up with their idiot friends to talk shit. I hope they make this game international every year until they give up their seats.
