Jerry Coleman: Orioles CAN’T COMPETE for AL East with current rotation | Vinny & Haynie

The Framber Valdez era in Baltimore is over before it even began, and Jerry Coleman isn’t pulling any punches. Joining Vinny & Haynie Thursday, Jerry warns that the Orioles ‘cannot go with the rotation they have in place’ if they expect to survive the AL East.

Is Zac Gallen the only move left to save the season, or has the ‘beating’ of the O’s rotation already begun? We dive into Jerry’s blunt assessment of the roster and why ‘pacifying the fan base’ might require a move Mike Elias hasn’t been willing to make yet. 1. Adult in the room? These are grown men. Just because you got old doesn't mean the rest of us didn't get older, too. Minter is younger than me, and I would never belittle a guy who has achieved as much as him. Haynie gets it and doesn't act that way. Jerry and especially Vinny…not so much

  2. The Orioles are idiots. They have wasted 3 years of this team by not signing a top starter to secure this young core. The Orioles will NOT win the division and they will finish in last place again. Well, maybe they beat out the rays by a few wins. I'm not upset they didn't get Framber. I'm upset they haven't signed any front line starter in years when they know they have a young core with top of the line talent. So disappointing that they continue to hope starters perform well enough to win with limited track records. Elias, go back to Houston please. Ridiculous to waste the years that you've already wasted away and now waste more.

  3. Fried, Pivetta, Luzardo last year. Crochet, Valdez, Suarez this year. All available and attainable.
Orioles get Baz, Sugano, Morton instead for that time frame.

  4. Not true. The rotation is fine yall are crying over spilled milk like usual with this fanbase. Baz is good. Kremer is solid, its gonna be ok. Truly. If you havent noticed our lineup is disgustingly good, we might not need to pay starters 40 million to win games…
