There’s 2 types of AHL players: the young ones trying to make it into the NHL, and the older ones who are there to support the team and keep it afloat. That’s why.

Impossible for young guys to develop if the team is a mess. You need career AHLers who can play in that league to make it a decent team.

We should send Jonathan Drouin down even with waivers. If nobody claims him maybe he finds his game.
Speaking of Willie Fister, the Railers swept the Nailers last weekend. Lot of snickering when we realized the matchup. I was there for Star Wars Day.

No AHL team is all prospects, there’s always some older guys as well. Plus our top guys like Eiserman, Eklund, and Aitcheson are all in other leagues so it’s not like this affects them in any way, anyways.
