I don’t want to trade DJ Moore

  1. I don’t think it’s a foregone conclusion we do.

The offense is better with him in it. They’d probably have to move some of his money around to make it work. I don’t see why they couldn’t though.

  2. I don’t care if people say he didn’t try on all his routes. He is phenomenal, and we would be stupid to trade him.

  3. Want? No.

Think it’s probably better for the team given his cost/production? Probably yes

  4. If poles and BJ want to keep our highest paid player that will probably be fourth on our team in targets I’ll accept that. But if I don’t I’ll completely understand.

  5. Look, we all love DJ, but we have an embarrassment of riches in our receiving corps and a flat out embarrassment of a DL.

Something has to give in order to address the defense and people don’t want to admit that.

  6. I want DJ and the rest of the offense on the same page.

Insane to have a communication issue at that point in the season.

  7. I’m very glad he’s come out publicly and has been defended publicly. I dont think he’s deserved the degree of hate he’s received.

That being said I think it’s a nuanced issue bc he has seemingly lacked effort at times in the past and so it’s hard to hand-wave away any times it does happen (or at least seems to happen).

I’ve said multiple times how much I like DJ and how high I think his skill level is. I’ve also maintained that I think he’s a great guy and the WPMOTY nomination confirms that. But while I don’t **want** him to be traded, I think he ultimately **will** be traded this offseason.

Whatever does happen whether Im right or wrong about his status on the Bears, I hope DJ experiences success and leaves behind a positive legacy that completely overshadows the effort questions that have begun to circulate the last 2 or 3 years. I’m glad we have had him and have him for as long as we do.

  8. I can’t understand why people want to turn the WR position into a glaring need. Some people crave mediocrity.

  9. I’m more in the “depends on the value” camp when it comes to trading him. He’s a great player and the team is better with him here. However, if the offer is very strong or we’d be getting a star player at another premium position by trading him, it would be hard to say no given the strength of our receiver room

  10. Me either. I feel like even though he had less stats than in prior years, the stats meant a lot more this past year

  11. I want him to take a pay cut. He makes too much for merely being one head of a three headed beast.

  12. I trust this coaching staff and their talent evaluation in the draft. Salary cap is going up, people can be restructured, and I’m guessing most of the turnover will be on the defense this time.

  13. I don’t either, he’s a big reason why we won a few games this year. Everybody assumes he’s the odd man out but we lost a playoff game by three points when Rome had an absolute inexcusable drop (among many) for a TD on our opening drive. We have depth now but if Rome doesn’t overcome his issues we are suddenly left with Luther (hopefully) being the stud

  14. If they were to trade a receiver, I’d want it to be Rome. Call me crazy, idc. I don’t trust his hands.

  15. It makes no sense financially to trade him for a number of reasons more likely he gets a void year or two at the end to free up some cap this year

  16. Once I heard Olin say the last play was clearly an injury issue and an explanation that trading DJ would not be so cap friendly then yeah we shouldn’t sell low on DJ.

There’s a couple things I wish I could unsee because I feel like I misinterpreted them.

  17. I want a functioning defensive line a lot more than I want a guy who will be getting paid #1 WR money to potentially be the #4 target in our offense next year.

Tough choices need to be made, this should be one of the easier ones.

  18. Same. But the way the media is pushing it–they have off the record sources–I’m guessing it’s a done deal.

  19. They can save most of the same cap as they would by trading him by just restructuring. Would much prefer that.

  20. I don’t *want* him to be traded but if he does end up being traded I’ll trust Ben Johnson. He had some great moments here

  21. I do. We need a tall receiver and DJ is mostly selfish and gives up in big games on big plays. It shows he hasn’t been on a winning team since high school until this year.

  22. He’s a good player! I’d like to keep him as well, I like the receiver depth. That being said, if trading him leads to getting an impactful player on defense, I’m all for it. I’m not giving him away for nothing.
