Hornets waive K.J. Simpson

  1. Sad, but I certainly understand the business behind a roster crunch.

I watch the draft religiously every year. Immediately after his name was called, he was interviewed. I’ve been a fan of the NBA for over 35 years, and I have never seen a better post draft interview than K.J. Simpson’s. He showed more heart than anyone I’ve ever seen in that interview.

If you can find it, go look it up.

    Good luck, KJ.

  2. Rest easy GOAT. Wouldn’t have that summer league chip without him. I think there’s a fringe nba guy in there if he can get his shooting up and keep playing hard defense. Sad hes gone.

  3. I think we should have picked Shead from Houston instead. Hope he lands somewhere he gets some run at.

  4. Are we gonna pick somebody else up for his 2-way slot or is this because of a roster crunch after the deadline?

  5. I hate to see it, but he just isn’t good enough for what this team is reaching for right now.

I hope he can land somewhere and do well.

  6. Damn, that kinda sucks. He was one of those below average second rounders that I was irrationally a fan of.

  7. very likeable and has all the right mindset traits to be a longtime nba player, unfortunately his ability and measurables are more like G league lifer level

felt inevitable, wish him all the best

  8. Dang. If you could be a star with nothing but effort, KJ would be All-NBA. Really enjoyed his time with us and hope he finds a home.

That said, hopefully that means Chef Jeff has something cooking for that two-way spot.

  9. Wherever he lands he’ll succeed, imo. Obviously being an undersized player means he’s already at a disadvantage. But I think he has the right attitude and drive to carve out a space in this league. Just needs more development and experience.

  10. I liked KJ but this is probably best for him.
With the moves we just made and this rookie class, idk who he takes minutes from.

  11. Sad about this, loved watching him in the summer league. We got the banner thanks to his efforts. I hope someone picks him up.

  12. Damn this sucks. He was the definition of Hornets DNA and made some huge improvements compared to his rookie year. What a shame.
