  1. If I'm Sogard, Campbell or to some degree even Eaton and Hamilton, I'm wondering what the hell is going on here. They have to be thinking does the team value me at all or am I going to be stuck in Worcester or traded or even DFAd at some point? Seems like they're loading up with utility type guys in case of injuries of underperformance. They don't mind overpaying someone for one year, but they don't want to pay a player four or five years. unless it's at their price. Truthfully, 6 million is chump change for John Henry and now they have underwhelming platoon depth in the infield in case Mayer or Story or both get injured again. If nobody gets injured and they are performing adequately, they have trade pieces to add to a potential trade. Their infield minus Story and Contreras is a bargain store delight. They're hoping one or two stay healthy all year and catch fire. In their eyes, it's better than committing to a long term deal or giving up the farm with cost controlled players for guys that have one or two years left on existing contracts and there's no guarantees they'll resign in Boston.

  2. Breslow doesn't know what he's doing. He got outsmarted by the Cubs and botched the Bregman deal. Now he's just nibbling around the margins on the cheap, signing castoff players instead of trading for a really good third baseman. 😡

  3. There are certain people on this channel specifically who will hop on here to defend this move as a sign of us being a world series contender lol. I swear, some fans are just too lost. They would eat a turd if Breslow told them the analytics show that the turd is in fact a brownie. Sometimes all I can do is laugh at this team and a portion of the fan base.

  4. Welcome to the Boston Red Sox open auditions for second base… since baseball doesn't have a playbook, if you get called into the Manager's office within the first few weeks of Spring Training, you can probably presume that AC won't be asking you to play golf with him.

  5. It's a good "look see signing" Brendon Rodgers is a very good 2B and is a former 1st round pick for the Rockies….no harm, no foul…..as for IKF….he was signed to be the 2B IMO
