In an interview with Ryan Clark, Verse says him and other young defenders are to blame for losing. They were over confident and panicked when Seattle kept it going vs them

  1. This kind of pissed me off.. How are you panicking when they hit a deep ball in the first quarter?

Verse went on to say they felt obligated to find a way to win and panicked. Dare I say, somehow pulled off the feat of overlooking the number 1 seed that had just destroyed the 49ers the round before.. a team that has beaten you too.. young defense needs to lock in moving forward.

I think Ryan Clark was even surprised when Verse started to open up and gave a real answer lol

  2. Oof…a lot of us understand the defense was young and cheap so yeah this checks out, just hard to hear it.

  3. This is a growth mindset. Not blaming others. I’m impressed by Verse’s maturity. I’m looking forward to next season.

  4. I understand why fans feel like some of the D line “sold” but I actually really like to hear this take from Jared. They definitely feel like they wasted that performance by the offense. I see this as growth in his mindset.

  5. This is so confusing. Hawks and Rams were separated by one point and a yard over two games. What kind of professionals would take their opponent for granted in that moment?

  6. Just doesn’t seem like a good look. Just give a generic answer. Better yet don’t go on these type of podcasts after a devastating loss. There is nothing to be gained.

Feels like this team lost focus and this offseason start isn’t my favorite.

  7. Well the first honest answer from a ram player about the Seahawk game. The denial actually started at the top. Your head coach basically blamed the loss on a “fortuitous bust” when it was actually a veteran defender who understood what the play was and what was coming. The whole team was overconfident and even after the game your head coach genius still was basically blaming it on “luck”.

  8. I love seeing accountability being taken. The recognition of what went wrong and not creating or making excuses. Even though he says it was a young player mentality, it shows he has a good head on his shoulders and will go far in his career if he keeps reflecting, taking accountability and making the changes necessary

  9. So you were surprised the nfc championship game opponent didn’t lay down? Then the whole gameplan went to shit because of it?

  10. Disappointing to hear. More disappointing to see him giving Ryan Clark the time of day. Fuck that guy

  11. Overconfident? They’ve played 2 other times didn’t they see how tough of a game it would be. Ugh. 😩

  12. At the end of the day, Sean McVay and Les Snead knew goddamn well what they were risking by having a bottom barrel ST unit (and not just this year, but for the past 5 years!!!) and a young, inexperienced defense on the cheap. I think it was more arrogant of those two that they could win it all with a discount bin defense. I think the defense overachieved for how little they invested in it. I think they can keep the DL we have now, maaaaybe draft another stud on the line, but they NEED to bring in a star CB, draft a top tier safety, and bring in another physical, strong tackling linebacker. And for the love of all that is holy, get a good return man and fix the goddamn special teams unit, there is really zero excuse for how bad it has been for so many years.

  13. Why is everyone freaking out. This is impressive maturity. Every other game we got multiple picks. The first game we shut down their offense. The second game we did a good job against the offense until our offense and special teams sucked and they got tired. Not good to come in confident. But It makes sense especially with 6 INTs in two games to feel like we need to make a big play.

  14. Good to take accountability and hope Verse can work hard to lock in next year. If we still had AD do that game you know we would have gotten a stop when we needed it
