   Nah but this is 100% the answer I’d expect. Why do we need to even be discussing a 2028-29 extension right now? He hasn’t even played a single game. Let’s see how things fit together before we talk about an extension years down the road.

3. It’s just not happening before next summer if at all

   He has a player option for 2027-28

   No way he gets extended by us before summer 2027

5. let the 2026-2027 happen before thinking of any extensions. A full year of Trae and AD with the young core, see if there is any promise. Imo the only way we are contenders is if AD or Trae play at an MVP level.
