[Passan] Trade news: The Boston Red Sox are acquiring third baseman Caleb Durbin in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers, sources tell ESPN. Left-hander Kyle Harrison, infielder David Hamilton and left-hander Shane Drohan are the three-player package headed back to Milwaukee.

Caleb Durbin is probably going to be a pretty good player long term, but that’s a pretty steep overpay. I know David Hamilton didn’t have a true role, but he’s a good depth player. Harrison was pretty much the center piece of the Devers trade and Shane Drohan’s stock is very low because he got hurt but he’s probably going to be a useful bullpen arm (possibly a starter) at some point.

The entire Devers trade is gone now. James Tibbs is a legit good prospect who they traded for Dustin May, who was a bad rental who immediately left, so they flushed the only good prospect the got back. Jordan Hicks was so bad they had to attach a prospect to get rid of him, and got a worse prospect back. And they moved Kyle Harrison for Durbin today. Essentially the trade is Devers for Caleb Durbin and a downgrade of pitching prospects.
