Flyers Daily with Jason Myrtetus 2-9-2026 Bill Meltzer
Flyers Daily with Jason Myrtetus: The Olympic Break has arrived as Bill Meltzer joins to discussion the past week of Flyers Hockey. Plus we really dig into the numbers comparing last season to this season for Matvei Michkov, and they will likely surprise you. We also discuss key elements we both want to see and learn more about before the season ends, the Collegiate play and performances of both Martone and Vansaghi for Michigan State and much more.

no no no…stop that BS, let michkov play on the right side…
Interesting chat, fellas.
We should play out the season and sell any roster player that teams come calling about..minus 39 or 46. Trying to find Drysdale his forever partner would be nice.
Having our draft slot in July somewhere between 5 and 8 would be great and not too too hard to endure. There are a few guys to like around there.
Taking stock of our wingers, both here and in the pipeline, is important this summer. We have a ton of them and even the draft looks very winger heavy towards the top. A trade of a Brink or a Tippett may be prudent before the draft. A solid defensemen in return would be helpful.
Hashing out a preliminary plan for Martone is also important. Who is he going to play with? He is pretty solid as a backchecker so all options are open.
Imagine believing Ristolainen won’t become injured in Italy
They advertise 39 on all the pictures but if i paid NHL costs to see him play 10 minutes as a fan you have the right to be upset paying to see your advertised star sitting
Please.
Four nations is perfectly fine and should continue. Its not the Olympics where you have all that travel, games are played here. Players can handle it.
Besides, the all star game is a complete waste of time and lets be honest, most of the regular season is meaningless.
Blame Bettman, the owners and the GMs for the fact that the end of games are so dreadful.
The loser point is killing the game and of course the Flyers have coach who's biggest goal is getting to OT.
I think it’s the fact that you’d expect Michkov to improve upon his rookie season which makes it more noticeable. So, the fact that his numbers are down instead of up makes the gap noticeable
I don’t understand why teams have to change sides before the OT. Keep the short change in the OT and that would fix a lot of issues.
The problem with Michkov this year is he’s not on first PP, not out there in OT or even 6 on 5, plus he is playing with Cates and Brink who are not close to good enough offensively. Why not put Michkov with Zegras and Konecny and let them play for the remainder of the season, what do we have to lose at this point?
The Flyers have no top centers and none are on the way. They have refused to bottom out and this is what you get, no top center or defensive players in their system, and no path to get these players at present. Not a good situation. Who is going to center Martone and Vansaghi when they come? It’s a real problem.
lmao Juulsen sounds like a moron
As a former season ticket holder and lifelong Flyers fan the last game reminded me of a typical mid February game against a western conference team. Always low energy and usually a loss. Just boring terrible hockey
The solution is to do away with the loser point, make it winner take all or no one gets a point
They should start the season earlier for Olympic years, same with 4 nations if they still want to do that. Condensing a schedule in hockey is a health killer.
