  1. pretty common for players starting with a new team. they’ll give him new gear on day 1. idk why they can’t ship these things tho it’s not like he was traded mid-season

  2. Sad to see him go, but after his back half of the season collapse it was the right thing to do.

  3. That’s gonna be confusing for the other 11 guys on the Mets roster with Yankee gear.

  4. It’s weird to me that acquiring teams can’t at least sent their meaningful signings like a bag and some swag or something ahead of time.

  5. A few years back, I started with a new company. I had to travel for work and had a travel backpack with my old company logo on it. A few people jokingly said something about it, and I told them I would be more than happy to use the one with my current company logo on it if they wanted to give me one. Respectfully, I’m not going to go buy a new bag for no reason. All in good spirits, but I get Luke Weaver showed up with that.

  6. Weaver is such a good dude. Legitimately sad to see him on the Mets, but hope he does well. Can’t say the same for any of the others

  7. I do think it is funny that for how big the business is, some aspects of it still go back to the basic structures of childhood baseball summer camps/after school programs etc. hence being handed your trademarked gear in person at spring training camp rather than being given a bunch of stuff when you sign.

I am sure if they had given him a package of Mets logo covered gear when he signed, including duffel bag, he’d have shown up with that.

Also funny that he apparently only has the one the Yankees gave him and not some generic/market brand version he could have used.

  8. I’m gonna miss his QotD answers.

Weaver – Man, it’s every day with you guys!

Interviewer – Um yeah, called it’s Question of the Day?
