BOLD MOVE: Milwaukee Brewers TRADE Caleb Durbin—Who TAKES Over Third Base? Key Options EXAMINED
Milwaukee Brewers shake up Spring Training with a blockbuster trade sending Caleb Durbin to the Boston Red Sox. Who will take over third base, and does this signal an ambitious new direction for the Brew Crew’s roster strategy?
Chuck Freimund breaks down the implications of losing Durbin and Andruw Monasterio, examines GM Matt Arnold’s next moves, and explores possible replacements like Sal Frelick, Isaac Paredes, Jett Williams, and David Hamilton. The episode spotlights the Brewers’ depth in young pitching, team control dynamics, and the strategic gamble of rebuilding the hot corner. With division rivals strengthening and the Opening Day lineup in flux, Chuck Freimund asks: Is Milwaukee gearing up for another division title, or risking instability at third base

Third base not too tough to field. Ron Santo.
Never can get enough good pitching. So we will see.
Brock will step up
You can’t a have a favorite brewer because they’ll be gone in 1-2 years.
Jett to short- Joey-O to third
There’s been a lot of trades that I didn’t like but it ended up working out.. 4 titles in the last 5 years, I can’t argue with that honestly. What do I know? I’m just a fan 🫠… I’ve just gotta trust the process
But man the Cubs are creeping up on us, not to mention the reds aren’t looking to bad either..
The Brewers clearly want to focus on stockpiling pitchers on the cheap. Premium hitting is too expensive for Cheap Mark.
I hope it works out and nets a World Series Championship. Making the playoffs simply isn't good enough.
W-T-F…
Starting to think that the front office need to be drug tested. Another prospect deal for major league ready players. Why would we trade for pitchers who haven't broke 4.20 era. Hamilton who that. Stop doing drugs front office.
I'm guessing you had the over yesterday
Let’s go!!!! Love what the Brewers got in return.
Kyle (George) Harrison…..Dark Horse
move ortiz to third and call up cooper pratt to play ss
Losing Mona hurts. His bat looked better last year.
Kyle Harrison has legit stuff and is only 24-years old.
Plus, the Brewers gave up what will probably be the 67th pick in the 1st round.
Had me shook!
Durbin was the most clutch player on the team last year. Despite his power, it’s not otherworldly. He has a weak arm from 3rd and needs to be moved to ss/2nd. I thought they shoulda traded Ortiz and kept Durbin. Especially after Ortiz defense was on display in the media. Prolly coulda gotten more outta Durbin than we get outta Ortiz going forward. The 4-5 years of team control too. Maybe Durbin wanted out.. ?
Honest opinion? Why? Same as dealing Collins and Mears. Why? Both deals look like we're the ones paying. I don't like saying winning or losing trades because you don't know until the pieces are used. But it looks like we're paying and not getting any sort of all round improvements.
Peralta was unsurprising due to his value and eventual cost. But Durbin especially, the only live bat in the postseason, clutch hits all year, why are we selling this guy? Ortiz is the most replaceable guy in the lineup…. I just don't get it.
Uh. 5 teams were in on Paredes. Now 4. He can go there. Unless..you want Christian Walker instead?
They obviously believe in their minor league potential for the infield. Trust the process
And just like that I am back here. Happy baseball szn(ish)
Oliver Dunn time! 😭
