Where does Ed Oliver fit in Bills defense under Leonhard? + SB60 reaction

The 2025 season is officially in the books, and as the dust settles on the Super Bowl, the Buffalo Bills face a massive identity crisis. Matt Parrino is joined by NFL Draft expert Chris Trapasso to break down why the Patriots’ offensive collapse serves as a warning for Buffalo and how the Seattle Seahawks just provided the perfect blueprint for the Jim Leonhard era.

The guys dive deep into the biggest question of the offseason: Does Ed Oliver actually fit in a 3-4 defense? With no guaranteed money left on his deal, Brandon Beane and Jim Leonhard have a franchise-altering decision to make. Plus, a preliminary look at the 2026 WR class and why the Bills might need a “triple-down” approach at receiver.

  1. THE BIGGER QUESTION IS HOW WE GONNA GET DEFENSIVE DOGS LIKE SEATTLE WITH ARMS LIKE TREE TRUNKS FLEET A FOOT UNDER BEAN?? BEAN IS THE PROBLEM SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED. COACHING DEVELOPS PLAYERS BUT IT'S TALENT THAT WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS! BEAN HAD 9 YEARS TO BRING IN DEFENSIVE TALENT BUT WE CAN'T SACK THE QB AND WE CAN'T STOP THE RUN. WHY BECAUSE THERE'S NOT ENOUGH TALENT ON THE D BECAUSE OF BEAN BAG!! THE MAJORITY OF THE GAMES WE LOST WERE BECAUSE OF THE D NOT BECAUSE WE DIDN'T SCORE ENOUGH POINTS THAT WE SHOULD HAVE WON.

  2. Maye was lost, couldn't read the defenses and when they changed up at the snap he had no answer, well he did turn it over multiple times so there's that.

  3. Sign pierce. Draft another wr high. Lb is easier to get in free agency or trade. Oliver is not an easy answer. I’d at lease see what he would bring in a trade.

  4. Saying that there is not a case to point to that WRs don't have 2 bad first 2 years, yes we do. Eric Moulds had 2 bad first years. Under 300yd per year and 2 total TDs in 2yr. Then he blew up for over 1300yd and 9 TD year 3. Roddy White is another example for the Falcons.

  5. Van Pran to Center and Anderson to LG, save $30m not retaining Edwards and McGovern. Cut Taron save $11m or ask him to redo deal. Lots of ways to optimize this roster.
