  1. As a Padre fan, I wish him well (except for when he plays SD, lol). He's a good teammate, and I always liked his hustle. However, he's also a one-trick pony: he doesn't hit for power, run, or field well. And because he doesn't walk much, his OBP last year was .327, which is poor. For him to bring true value to his team, he needs to bat at least .330, or be more selective.

  2. I love Arraez but glad my Padres moved on from him. He’s a fantastic hitter but he’s just not a "game changer" in today’s baseball. Plus I believe he’s already reached his ceiling. Doesn’t score enough runs for a guy who hits so well and he’s a below average fielder.

  3. I'm hyped to finally have a batter that refuses to strike out, but I worry about his fielding. We've got a really weak right infield, and most of our pitchers are ground ballers.

  4. Not sure how giants fans would be upset to acquire a player like this. We barely could put the ball in play last year when it mattered the most. Why not be optimistic with a player who batted .292 with a 181 hits and a 3.1% strikeout rate in the 2025 season. Lowest strikeout rate since 1995 lol. 3 time batting champion from 2022-2024. Even if his defense is not great, there’s room for improvement. Especially with some of our new coaches. Hoping for the best.
