Not long ago CJ had great spatial awareness and no nerves behind a shaky o-line, can this version ever comeback?

  1. While these highlights are nice this level of play is not ideal nor sustainable, we HAVE to be able to run the football and fix the DAMN OLINE. teams can get to the QB AND stop the run only rushing four, so they just let everyone else just sit back in coverage making it more difficult for everybody. Get a true RB1, fix the oline, get a blocking TE and this team can go to the big dance.

  2. That CJ Stroud makes a game out of that SB we saw a couple days back.

Problem is, that’s not who he consistently is.

  3. This guy is dead and doesn’t exist anymore. It’s time to make your peace and move on.

  4. Just my observation. He has been a totally different QB since his first concussion against the Jets in his rookie year. He hasn’t really been that consistent ever since.

  5. If the last two super bowls have shown us anything it’s that you cannot win if you do not win the battle at the line of scrimmage.

  6. There is 1 theory that thinks our defense had an effect on him. Our D is so nuts that it’s messing with CJ’s internal clock in practice. Not sure if, or how true it is, but he needs to get out of his own head. It’s the equivalent to fighting when they say “just let them hands go”.

  7. This is the problem I have here… I fundamentally disagree with how people viewed his rookie season. He still struggled with the same things he does now, you just didn’t see it as much because things around him were cleaner. He was always inconsistent with pocket presence, poise, accuracy, etc. and as time went on it got exposed more and more. It didn’t go anywhere though. He has many games this year where he did the same things in this clip. The question is why he can’t do it consistently? In part because the OL still sucks but some of it is genuinely on him and he tends to make things WORSE for some unknown reason just randomly. Other times he is almost everything you want him to be like vs the 49ers.

I don’t get it fully but he’s young and still fresh in the league. Hopefully he starts playing more into that consistent great pocket passer role instead of what we saw vs NE and I’m pretty sure it’s mostly mental.

Also, that is a terrible song to put over a highlight clip.

  8. We could have made it to the Super Bowl with that version of CJ. I hope he gets his mojo back next season.

  9. It requires time behind a clean OL to get that back.

Bad OL play in 2024 caused the regression.
