Can we turn any of these guys into the next Darnold?

  1. Jets need a good head coach and a competent front office. Then draft your franchise QB.

  2. Boomer and gio this morning talking about how they could see Watson as our QB. fuuuuuuck outta here with that.

although it would fit right in with our vibe

  3. Bring someone in but don’t promise them the starter role (like Fields). Draft a Nuss no earlier than 4th round. Play the year out to develop rest of team. Use pick next year on a potential starter. There is no easy fix to our shit show at QB.

  4. Sam Darnold was the next Sam Darnold, if we simply surrounded him with talent and supportive coaches.

  5. Willis is going to be the next Darnold. Anyone that has seen his tape in Green Bay knows this.

  6. Out of those names, I’d stick a fork in Fields, Levis, Lance, ZW, and Pickett. None have shown the ceiling that Darnold had, except for maybe Fields and he’s failed on 3 teams already.

Willis & Mac Jones possibly, although Mac has durability concerns IMO and he could very well just be benefitting from a Shanahan offense. Both will likely not use their chance as a starting QB on us, and their price will be too steep anyway.

Kyler/Tua are wild cards. High ceiling for both of them, but they’ve declined year after year. Tua durability issues & Kyler attitude problems. I’d say these two are the most likely to turn it around in the right setting. Also probably won’t be us.

AR is a wild card. Howitzer for an arm yet terrible accuracy. Doesn’t really know how to play the position and wildly overdrafted due to the desire to “find the next Josh Allen.” Hasn’t started many games in his football career, so it’s possible he’s a very late bloomer. But also sounded like he was kind of a dickhead in the locker room, and fracturing an orbital from an exercise band feels like he may be cursed. If the Colts just wanna cut bait, i wouldn’t hate taking a flyer on him for a late rounder. But in this scenario our QB room would have to probably be Vet (Brissett?) with AR & a late day 2/early day 3 rookie competing for the backup job. Not sure I see it for us.

  7. Darnold had serious potential if you watched him. It’s more we were that ass than he was. This is just a long list of ass qbs who don’t have Darnolds potential

  8. I think Malik Willis has most potential rn

I just dont want kyler. i think he would be bad but good enough to leave us outside top 5 picks

  9. Zach Wilson somehow leading someone to a SB win in a few years is going to feel completely different than Darnold doing it

  10. If the jets trade for Kyler Murray , I’m
officially out as a fan and never looking back. Guy is too short and is more interested in double xp weekends than winning the chip.

  11. I don’t think any will be the next Darnold.  But, I’d give Lance the best shot, because he hasn’t has a much opportunity as the others to prove he stinks.

  12. If it’s while playing for the Jets, NONE obviously. I’m sure Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes would suck ass all of a sudden if they played for the Jets. I still think Fields can be a star. Just has to get in the right situation.

  13. Just to be really clear here – the issue was that the Jets couldn’t turn Sam Darnold into Sam Darnold.

  14. Can some of these players make something of their careers? Yes. Yes they can.

Can some of these players make something of their careers with the Jets? No. No they can not.

  15. Wilson is probably the best physically. He can make all the throws, very mobile, hasn’t had any injuries and is very young. He should sign with the 49ers.

  16. They dont come to the Jets to become a Sam Darnold. They leave the Jets to become a Sam Darnold.

  17. Pickett had the arm in college but don’t know what happened to him in the pros?
Maybe just can’t read at this level or poor instruction

  18. Kyle Shanahan or Sean McVay could turn McCorkle into a Darnold but idk that we could.
