Bobby Marks CALLS OUT Utah Jazz for messing with the INTEGRITY of the sport | NBA Today

On NBA Today, I’m joined by Tim MacMahon, Bobby Marks, Chiney Ogwumike and Danny Green to discuss the current state of the NBA, including concerns that some of the league’s bottom teams may be intentionally losing and how Adam Silver and the league office could respond.

  1. Don't reward bad teams. You can see that even the worst teams can be competitive with the best if they try, so make the draft lottery odds dependent on measurable stats that force all teams to try to pick am identity and play well

  2. NFL FOX, CBS & NBC shows have one host and the rest of the panel has either former players or coach's from the league.
But the "ESPN NBA Today show" has one host with 3 out of the 4 panel members that has never played in the Men's NBA.
Even MLB understands you have one neutral host and the rest players or managers.

  3. LOL. The Jazz have been a playoff team for most of the last 40 years, during that time I've seen at least 100 teams tanks. But now it's an issue because the Jazz do it? Integrity? Sure 🤣

  4. You take the fifteen teams with the worst record and give all the exact same odds for the number one pick. Sixteen through 20 gets the same odds, and the rest get less based on their playoff finish. You have less tanking that way, and they should add a rule that says no team can be in the top five pick position for more than three years. It addresses the teams that don't try.

  5. Hmmm let’s see…teams are incentivized to lose…star players are incentivized to not play any games…crappy players are incentivized to gamble…looks like a league full of losers to me.

  6. This is infuriating to hear as a Jazz fan. We played by the rules. We get screwed over by the league for being a small market in many ways. We're trying to build a championship contender against all odds. Have this conversation when it's the Lakers or Knicks tanking. Bobby Mark's take here is very self-serving.

  7. Love how the media keeps the attention on the effect being solely on the drafts. The obvious frustration for us is the rip off for folks putting their hard earned money into the teams pockets. But, what they are steering your mind away from is the manipulation, including the positioning of teams, for the playoffs. TV money is every sport leagues golden goose

  8. Just have a damn single elimination tournament with the 14 lottery teams already. Team that makes it through wins the draft..

The team with the least wins is ranked 1 and the team with the most wins is ranked 14.. 14 plays 1 ,13 – 2,12 – 3 and so forth.. if a teams player(s) don't play a min of 65 games that player(s) aren't eligible to play for their team during the tournament and the team will be forced to hire g league/street ball talent which also generate extra income for ballers that normally wouldn't get a shot..

This fixs tanking cause no will want to lose the most games while havin to play the best lotto team.and it stops teams from sitting out players..

Problem solved, now pay me my commission check NBA!!

  9. Its simple, get rid of the lottery for the non playoffs teams. The better your record the higher you get to draft. Put them in order from best to worst record pick 1-14
