Shohei Ohtani leading the pack

  1. Ngl I love Ohtani more than life itself but that’s a bad ranking lmao. If it was best players Shohei is number 1 but strictly hitting Judge is the best in the league by a pretty wide margin. And that’s not an insult to Ohtani as a player it just goes to show how inhuman this run judge is on has been

  2. I have no clue where this narrative of Ohtani being the best hitter comes from. He’s an amazing hitter, but he’s not as good as the best right handed hitter to ever play the game…

It’s not like this is a best player overall ranking

  3. This makes more sense if you think of it as “top 10 players who hit” instead of “top 10 hitters.” In addition to Judge being the clear number one hitter, Bobby Witt Jr. wasn’t even top 10 in rBat+.

  4. Man this is off-season shitpost stuff.

This ranking makes more sense as best players list. Makes no sense for a hitter list.

  5. Judge been better hitter last few season sure but people should relax. Rankers are predicting 2026 season and they think Ohtani will be better.

  6. Judge isn’t just the best hitter in the league right now. He’s the best hitter in baseball of the last decade.

  7. Judge is by far the best hitter in the game and it isn’t even close. He needs to be in his own category.

  8. These lists are made as rage bait because this is how our society works. Clicks. No one would continue to talk about it if it was actually a good list. Our current reality is enshitificstion and it’s just shitty.

Judge is clearly the best hitter in baseball. I’m not at all saying Ohtani isn’t good-but if the question is hitting then this list is just wrong. In many other ways too.

  9. Are they lowering Judge for his yearly no-shows in meaningful post season ABs? Because that’s the only way this makes sense.

Strictly as a hitter, Judge is unmatched rn.

  10. Yankees fan here but this popped up since I’m on every baseball sub for research purposes.

But forget the Judge shit, Julio at #9? What the fuck? The kid more often than not finishes with an OPS below .800. This is crazy. I wouldn’t even put Vlad and Lindor over guys like Carroll, Tatis Jr, Harper and Alonso. But Julio is crazy.

  11. I’m sorry, but no, shohei is not a better hitter than Judge. Better *player*? Absolutely, but Judge is the better hitter

  12. I would take Ohtani over Judge. Shohei is in his prime at 31 years old. Judge is aging, and it’s not crazy to think his bat might regress this year.

We’re not even mentioning the playoffs. Ohtani outdid himself in the NLCS and the World Series, setting a new record for getting on base. He’s going to be a full-time two-way player with elite protection both behind him and in front of him. I wouldn’t be surprised if he hits 50 homers, strikes out 150+ batters, and steals 50 bases.

Judge also injured himself last season playing in the outfield. We’ll see if that affects him this year.

  13. Freddit rated #1 at 1B so this doesn’t surprise me lol

Even though I agree Judge is better, this will be a fun image to ragebait yankee fans on twitter.

  14. judge is great hitter But Ohtani great hitter and pitcher.  sometimes pitching takes some of your power away in game pitching… yet Shohei Does hit  in those pitching ga m es.

  15. Tucker wont be the 3rd best hitter on his team, he will be maybe in the top 10 in his division. Looking forward to him flopping

  16. All the folks downvoting the indisputable fact that Judge is the greatest hitter in baseball right now need to take a step back and learn some ball. Man is the greatest non-juiced hitter in the history of the game.

  17. Shohei is the second best hitter in the league and that’s ok. He’s the best overall player, obviously.

  18. Im a Dodger fan, but Bo Bichette should replace Kyle Tucker. 🤣
Felt like we couldn’t get him out during the series.
