That time Yasiel Puig didn’t run out on a ground ball 😬

  1. MLB glazed this guy when he was a dodger. “Oh look he’s licking his bat! retweet ALL these gifs of it!”

    scrubs.

  2. Wasn’t he out when he turned his back and started walking away? Regardless of the actual outcome.

  3. Puig escaped Cuba in a pretty harrowing experience, finally got to the US, finally for a chance to play in the bigs and make big money, and didn’t appreciate it *whatsoever*.

I’d love to see a psychological evaluation of Puig, that guy is out of his mind.

  4. He was so damn exciting for a minute there though. Its a shame thinking what could have been.

  5. It’s one of those unwritten rules.

If we are honest it is kinda a waste of energy, similar to running out a line drive. There is maybe a .00001 chance something happens that does not result in an out in a case like this.

  6. Fun story: I was working at Target Field that day, and Puig was outside the stadium at the employee entrance. Security wouldn’t let him in without someone to vouch for him, so I did, and had to escort him to the visitors clubhouse. I told the story to my boss, and they laughed that if Puig did anything to beat the Twins that game he’d fire me. Then this play happened, and I was off the hook.

  7. Meanwhile, Bobby Witt Jr is somehow hustling hard enough to get to first safely. You either love the game, or you don’t.
