2. Geno WAS problematic! Love the guy, but if the M's had brought Geno back it would have been a good chance that he would solidly under-perform his contract, which would not have been good for the team.

3. He is also very affordable! 2.7 WAR for 5.8 million! Leaves lots of room for Arb and extensions on the rotation.

5. Donovan mains at 2B, send Cole Young down to AAA to get full time reps. Give Colt 3B and have Rivas as a utility off the bench.

9. I agree that Naylor or Cal getting hurt is bad and the team is screwed if it’s a season ending injury. However, if Naylor misses a month the team can survive that with Raley and Refsnyder, I believe. Now if Cal misses a month this team is screwed because Knizner is terrible and the drop off from Cal will lose them so many games.

    Given how many games Cal has caught over the last 2 seasons would you play him at DH a little more to save the "wear and tear" on his knees? I know we don't really want Knizner in the lineup any more than absolutely necessary but I don't want Cal relegated to a DH and backup catcher because his knees are shot…he is far too important behind the plate!

13. Rivas at 2b, crawford at SS, donovan at 3b. A lot of talk about Emerson or Young being in the lineup but I think its not the time to experiment. We dont need another dustin ackley or brad miller in there hitting .210 with good defense (ie 2025 Cole young). Rivas has been in the system a long time. Has good BB to K ratio. Grinds at bats with lots of 5+ pitch ABs. Gimme leo all day

14. Tbh that’s what the Ms have been seriously lacking was a true leader off hitter and high on base player which fits perfect with our power hitters now.

16. I am excited for 2026. As the 26 man roster sits it's better than last year but the bench and potential call ups aren't very good. But who knows maybe some of the bench and minor leaguers can pop and be very useful. Go M's.

18. Nah. They are still at least 2 more bats away from having an offense even remotely comparable to the Blue Jays. That said, it may be offset if the Mariners pitching can stay healthy and get back to being dominant, but I expect their offense to be a little worse this season regardless. I think the Mariners will end up being just as good as last season 90-95 wins, which will easily be good enough in the AL Worst, but I would still favor the Jays and Yankees over Seattle in the playoffs. Even Cleveland and MN could be tough again as well. The same Twins team that nearly pulled out the DS against Seattle last year. I think Seattle is more realistically the third or 4th best team in the AL at the moment

19. Hell no be real. You just went off like last week that they had so many holes. He's a utility player. He's the cherry on top of a complete roster. They are not a complete roster. If Emerson does make the team out of spring that moves Donavon to the primary dh come on.

20. Maybe not favorites but a contender. Donovan will bring less than Polanco. Cal will regress as will Randy. So counting a lot on young players and progression from Canzone.
