Brewers To Sign Gary Sánchez

  1. Sure why not, but I was thinking if they are serious about Vaughn taking grounders at 3rd why not just bring back Hoskins. He would be cheap

  2. Love it, takes the pressure off of Quero. McGuire is great to have in the org but having Sanchez’s power on the bench is great and with the amount of games Contreras starts it should help keep Gary healthy.

  3. Contreras and Sanchez won’t cover all 162 games, there will certainly be an injury at some point in the season. Quero would get at bats then

  4. His HR total was down last year because he played in a fraction of the games he did for the Brewers in ’24 but when he was playing, his slugging numbers weren’t bad at all. Absolutely worth bringing him in as a depth piece.

  5. Solidifies backup C position and gives Quero a chance to ply every day in AAA, which will be more valuable to him than playing once a week in the majors.

  6. I think I like this more than the Reese McGuire option. (I do wonder if McGuire has an opt out date and when that is)

I hate being the guy that thinks one move will lead to another… but I do wonder if this opens the door to moving Quero in a trade for an infielder.

  7. Imagine starting a new job and before noon on your first day the company hires your replacement 🤣

  8. My all time favorite radio clip has to be the Sanchez Homer against the cubs. “BAAAAACK, TRAAAAAAAACK, GOOOOOOOOOOOONE”

  9. Okay but we just edited Reese McGuire. I’m also 90 percent sure the Brewers hate Jeff Quero because he seemed like an almost lock as an opening day backup but we just keep signing catchers, Pretty good signing though.
