[Passan] Right-hander Chris Bassitt and the Baltimore Orioles are in agreement on a one-year, $18.5 million contract, sources tell ESPN. Bassitt, 36, joins an overhauled O’s rotation that also added Shane Baz and re-signed Zach Eflin to join Kyle Bradish, Trevor Rogers and Dean Kremer.

  1. I’ll give the Orioles this- they have a consistent history of handing out healthy salaried deals to pitchers who are like a tier or two below elite but with a decent market.

  2. Man, I was excited for a second; thinking we got someone.

Anywho, this is still meaningful. I’m a little surprised he got 18.5. I guess holding out worked.

Helps the O’s raise their floor.

Bradish, Rogers, Bassitt, Kremer, Eflin/Baz is solid with their lineup.

  3. That’s a fat AAV for what could be Bassitt’s final season. No way the Yankees were shelling out that much for a innings-eater. Good for him!

  4. I’m a little surprised the Os didn’t bring Sugayano back, he only signed a 1 year deal with the Rockies.

  5. get dominguez playing time when they’re facing bassitt cus he was owning the fuck out of him lol

  6. Theres a decent chance the orioles are good again. The sox will probably be good.  The jays probably the class of division. The yankees doing nothing this off season could be disastrous

  7. Really good signing. We could’ve used him, but they weren’t spending the money on him giving their payroll.
