Damn good goalie who had the bad timing of coming into his own as the team was in decline. He’s not a Mount Rushmore goalie for us, but he’s not far off.

Ok, I’m not sure how many people around here will be familiar with a 140 year old folk song, but in the song Jesse James (who lived under the alias Thomas Howard), there is a line “that dirty little coward, who shot Mr. Howard…” When my son who is 24 now was a wee one (ie, back when Jimmy Howard played), he used to sing “that dirty little coward, who shot the goalie Howard…”
Anyway, that’s all I got.

Any goalie who put Crosbys head into their glove is ok in my books
If you think about it, he’s our last long-term, consistently good starter. While we’ve had other decent goalies since Howard, they’ve always felt like stop gaps.
Sucks that he came in as the wings were starting to decline.
I will forever be convinced that HE is the reason they even made the playoffs in 2010. If he hadn’t played his ass off in March I don’t think they get in.
