Tom Brady & Gronk: The Tampa Takeover

20 years together ended, a trade was forced, and a dynasty was exported

In March 2020, Tom Brady did the unthinkable: he left New England for the “losingest franchise in sports history.” But he didn’t go alone. After a year of retirement spent winning WWE titles and living his best life, Rob Gronkowski decided he had one more run in him. He famously “forced” a trade to Florida, reuniting the most lethal QB-TE duo in the history of the game.

What followed was a one-year masterclass in “culture shifting.” They turned a 7–9 team into Super Bowl champions in their first season together. The pinnacle was Super Bowl LV, where they became the first team to win the trophy in their own stadium. The image of Gronk spiking the ball in the end zone while Brady screamed “LFG” is burned into the memory of every Bucs fan. Even in 2026, as Gronk jokes about “re-marrying” Patriot Nation, the Tampa era remains the ultimate proof that Brady could win anywhere.

Was the Brady-to-Gronk connection in Tampa more impressive than their New England years? πŸ‘‡

  1. So funny they did exactly that 🀣🀣 legends.

I’m convinced Tom could probably come out of retirement again and win another one with the right team πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ still in better shape than 80% of the current QBs and 10x higher football IQ than all of them
