The case for moving on from Rob “wait and see” Pelinka

The amount of energy people put into this is baffling. He’s as average as average can be and lucks out every once in a while with a good move.
We should move on, but stressing about it is crazy
The first point I think is misguided. The 21 Lakers were just as good if not better but AD got hurt.
Also why are all pretending Jay Huff is good? He’s playing for one of the worst teams in the league, as soon as the Pacers start trying to win he won’t be getting real minutes
Y’all really need to go look at how the Dodgers are run. Rob isn’t going anywhere for at least the next two seasons and if he shows that he’s willing to follow orders from the top then he’s going to keep being here regardless of what the vocal minority says.
Same goes with JJ, there will be a time when he is given the lineup and told to stick to this script. If he does he’ll be kept on like Dave Roberts.
How was firing Ham Pockets a bad thing? Also, wasn’t the Westbrook move a huge influence by LB? I guess you can say a GM shouldn’t be influenced by a player, but ownership also supported it.
The one that hurts the most is letting Carushow walk. He loved playing in LA.
I’d far more prefer no trade over a bad trade. I think we should also see how far this team can go. If it’s a first round exit again, yeah there’s a strong case that he should be let go. If it’s a WCF appearance, then maybe he’s actually doing alright.
We going to pretend that the Westbrook trade wasn’t really pushed by Lebron’s camp?
WB was bron and AD, FO def stopped listening to bron after that shit backfired.
Scotty Pippen Jr. Had a lot of chances here and was just consistently bad. It was the right move to let him go at the time, he needed a change of scenery to improve.
Okay, now do the one with “The Good” and let’s compare.
Forgot the lakers had huff on the team. Could really use him this season.
Didn’t he also wait too late on the AD trade and ended up having to give Pelicans more pieces than they initially asked for
Post and fans like this make me embarrassed to be a Laker fan.
I know I’m in the minority here, but the Westbrook trade is 85% Bron and ADs fault. They pushed for that hard. And yes he has the say in doing it or not, but this fanbase would have absolutely lost their shit when it came out from Brons camp that they didn’t do what their star wanted.
Two names explain Pelinka ain’t so bad-Mozgov and Deng
Don’t forget the THT signing
You. Do. Not. Get. To. Decide.
It’s. Not. Your. Team.
The 2020 team did run it back. It got killed by a 1 month offseason
Lebron with them young cats: Ingram, Kuz, Hart, and Ball, would’ve won a championship. They traded too early.
Before he got hurt during his first year with The Lakers, they were tough.
Why not do the good as well in the graphic? This makes it propaganda.
OMG. I’ve watched people dick ride this fool for bringing LeBron here and bringing AD here and bringing Luka here. Now he ain’t shit. Let the GM, GM. Sometimes you buy the best product you can buy and you find out it ain’t shit. Can’t blame Pelinka for that.
He did the Luka trade and that’s been a boon for the lakers ? He only did the Westbrook trade to appease to LeBron that much is clear . LeBron wanted Westbrook and when that didn’t work out bron distancing himself from that was and is problematic
The 2021 team roster was actually better than the title team. Injuries played the largest partoff us not repeating. Also, cannot ignore the Klutch partnership and factor in alot of these moves that happened. I’ve been a Lakers fan my whole life and this blame everything on Rob Pelinka narrative has gotten out of hand. While not all the moves were great…. Look at all the players we drafted that did actually hit. Kuzma, Hart, Bryant, Christie. The difference is when you want to stay in a win now mode to appease superstars then you trade the young guys and picks.
The JHS, Zubac trade, picking THC over Caruso (Klutch) and the Westbrook trade/Fit (Klutch) hurt us. And im this current CBA those burns sting a bit more. But, there’s been good the front office has done too.
Now its Luka time and were in the middle of an unexpected soft-rebuild. You trade for a 25 year old superstar every single time. So, this is the other side of the coin as we build the team around him.
We wouldn’t have Luka without Pelinka. Nico trusted Pelinka, and Pelinka fleeced on our behalf. What’s that worth? His critics will say it fell in his lap, but that’s because of the relationship he had with Nico. He kept AR, which was our most valuable asset, considering what AD just went for. That trade was a good trade but it unbalanced our roster but because we have pushed all our chips in every year from 2020 to 2024, we don’t have the assets to retool this year. Combined with the fact that I’m not sure how much LeBron, Luka, and AR fit, given that none of them play D, it honestly would have been better if we had tanked this year and retooled next year with a high pick plus our subsequent picks.
Lots of argument but im pretty sure that it was the Klutch mafia who wanted westbrook
Don’t forget Talentless Horton-Tucker
Hiring JJ was worse than hiring Ham
Not sure how trading Zubac for Muscala doesn’t make the list.
At least 5 of these points you could easily argue in the other direction. Why are some people hell bent on skewing perspective in the most negative way possible?
this is rage bait right?
Scotty Pippen Jr and Jay Huff do not matter, some of you need to get over that
Cherry picked spin.
The first bullet is just a blatant lie.
The 21 Lakers kept the majority of the core from the title team. And upgraded aging Dwight Howard and Rajon Rondo with 6MOY Montrezl Harrell and 6MOY runner-up Dennis Schröder.
