Why do you think the Utah Jazz are singled out in national tanking debates?
I'm tired of the Jazz trying to be cute with their roster and playing their best players only part of the game. Jazz fans wants the team to lose, the national media believe that playing a player only part of the game is worse than not playing them at all. What they're doing now isn't working! Just shut it down. Rest Keyonte, JJJ, and Lauri for the rest of the year. There are some great player prospects available in the top 6 picks of the draft. We really need to not only ensure we keep this pick, but that we have the best possible odds of getting a high pick.
Just me or is the Mic not working well? Sounds like you are recording from a distance.
It's dishonest to sit players and say they're injured when they're clearly not. Why is it so bad to just be honest and manipulate lineups to lose instead of hiding guys on the injured list? Maybe when you're different and transparent you get a target on your back. Call it Jazz Derangement Syndrome.
I think this system would be the best way to minimize tanking: The "Earn Your Luck" NBA Model: Kill the Tank
1. Flattened Odds: All 14 non-playoff teams start with one (1) lottery ball. The lottery is for the Top 3 picks only; the rest are determined by reverse standings.
2. The "Giant Killer" Bonus: Only the bottom 7 teams can increase their odds. Every win against a playoff-seeded team earns them +0.5 lottery balls.
3. The "Blowout Bounty": If a lottery team beats another lottery team by 20+ points, they STEAL 0.5 balls from the loser. This makes "load managing" or resting stars against other bad teams a massive risk—if you bench your guys and get blown out, you literally hand your draft odds to your neighbor.
4. The Cooling Period: To stop luck-based dynasties:
• Win #1 Pick: Ineligible for the Top-3 lottery for 2 years.
• Win #2 or #3 Pick: Ineligible for the Top-3 lottery for 1 year.
(You keep your natural pick, you just can't jump into the Top 3 again.)
The Result: Fans stay engaged in April, GMs are forced to play their stars to protect their assets, and young players learn a winning culture instead of "racing to the bottom
JJJ out for the season, so I guess we can't be accused of sitting that healthy player. 🤷♂
I think it’s a combination of our state allways gets hate and the way we are tanking isn’t good for the gambling companies so they are pushing the narrative.
Get a better mic please but W video
Hey you sound like you're in an echo chamber
How do you complain about the Jazz when Sacramento gets blown out by 30 and isn't even trying
Sacramento is clearly tanking! Grab your pitchforks and fake outrage
Thanks for doing these videos. Good stuff. Conversation needed. Thinking I am over this pick now. I refuse to believe it’s either we get this pick or we are going to fail, that some fans seem to indicate. We can barely afford the team we have now, once we extend Key and Walker… and then Ace. And these new top rookies will want max extensions in 3 years.
Lock has a bunch of really well thought out argument about the Jazz being bashed for tanking
I love egregious here. LOL. The Jazz could have scored zero points in the fourth and would still have won the game. The bench would have played most of the fourth regardless of the tank last night.
Gambling companies hate what we are doing
They hate on utah for being majority white lol same reason players don’t want to come here. Thats just the truth of the matter
Please rectify the repeated audio issues. Clarity would be a pleasure.
Aye yo' David Locke, don't get emotional about the trolls and fools whinging about the "Jazz tank". They feed off emotion, and then make ridiculous comments about how sensitive Jazz fans are. Better to mock and ridicule them. Ask them why they get so butt hurt when Hardy gives crucial minutes to the Jazz youth to help them develop? To evaluate progress, growth, and give them a fighting chance for another contract. Ask the fools how much money they lost gambling on those games, or which gambling outfit paid them to attack the Jazz. Tanking isn't new, it's the un-organic outrage that's new. The most likely reason is due to "fans" losing money on bets, and the FanDuel type outfits, influencing talking heads behind the scenes, etc…
Excellent show, David
Why even give Windhorse any run? He’s the WORST commentator in all of basketball. He should not have a job in this business.
It’s definitely the $$$$$$. Gamblers are pissed at the Jazz!
People love to rip on the jazz for any reason. I think people are genuinely scared of what the jazz are building.
For me, the Jazz have never truly tanked except for the past few years. People are used to the Jazz slotting in higher than they are currently doing. Jerry Sloan would never let his players let up. Its obvious that whoever is complaining wants mediocre from the Jazz and not the best talent in Utah. Absolutely silly takes from the national media. Its kind of like, Utah be bad and know your place and dont get the ultra elite talent.
I think somehow the concencus just is that tanking is bad and somehow its now coming out through Jazz.
Though, Jazz has picked pretty high for the few years. George 16, Kyle 32, Collier 28.
