Max Muncy is staying in LA as the Los Angeles Dodgers agree to a one-year, $10 million extension for 2027 with a 2028 club option, and AJ Pierzynski, Erik Kratz and Scott Braun break down why Muncy chose stability, what it says about the Dodgers’ winning culture, and how it impacts their long-term plans, plus reactions to Kiké Hernández returning, Paul Sewald heading back to the Arizona Diamondbacks, Miles Mikolas signing with the Washington Nationals, and Ronald Acuña Jr. declaring he’s healthy for the Atlanta Braves as camps ramp up.

  1. Let's keep this in mind if for one year finally the Dodgers do not log the most days on the ill by their team what do you think they're going to be able to do what's in winning games and how good are they I don't think anybody knows yet but I can tell you they're scary

  2. If Muncy might get more elsewhere, why wouldn't the Dodgers raise the offer to meet what he would get as a thank you or for good faith? It's only a few million which is nothing to them

  3. It’s crazy to think when he first came onto the scene as a dodger, but Muncy has a real good chance being a top 10 dodger ever between his stats and rings

  4. Muncy's missed time with injuries these past two seasons, but if you look at his combined totals from 2024-2025, his value is huge.

    He's had 681 PAs and 550 ABs – basically a full season.

    His numbers:
    34 HR / 115 RBI / 95 R
    138 OPS+ / 6.6 WAR

And his numbers with RISP have been phenomenal – he had a 1.151 OPS with RISP in 2025

And they win with him in the lineup.

    2025 Dodgers

    With Max Muncy
    60-40
    .809 OPS / 5.69 Runs per Game

    Without Max Muncy
    33-29
    .700 OPS / 4.13 Runs per Game
