  2. I didn’t realize Bassitt was such an asset for the Jays . He was pretty much guaranteed to give you a 2.5-3.0 WAR every year. That combined with the ABS likely costing the Jays 2 wins a season and it isn’t looking good for the 2026 Blue Jays. They need to replace those 5 wins somehow

  4. Chasing Max is a mistake unless he comes in as a player coach and for a reduced salary. But we know his price: a dollar more than whatever Verlander got.

  7. I think they are concerned about Bieber's recovery, which plagued him in the Postseason and there is a possibility any of the pitchers they have can go down as well.

    Scherzer's age is a massive factor if they attempt to get him.

  12. We need Romero from STL as a lefty bullpen. Plus another starter couldn't hurt given Bieber and Francis injuries. Geolito had a very good 2025 at 3.41 era and 145 IP. I think a 1 yr for Geolite or Gallen wouldn't hurt.

  14. I love the thought of a reunion with Max….but for it to work I think a lot of things need to play out just right. First, Max has to remain unsigned going into the season…..then, if the Jays find they need another rotation arm, then go and get him. That's a lot of ifs though….if Schrezer remains unsigned, if the Jays' rotation falters or has injury issues….even if Max isn't the ace he once was, and even if he's about the same as he was last year during the regular season….still I think his intensity rubs off on the team.

Berrios is going to come in with something to prove, to himself, sounds like he wasn't happy with the way last season ended and he's a pro and going to want to show the league what he's all about in case some people didn't already know. I hope the manager doesn't get too involved, give him some space he's been doing this a long time and nobody knows him like he knows himself. I'm very curious about what kind of job Schneider the elder is going to do this season, I hope he's learned a lot.

  16. Nick Castellanos was released by the Phillies today, and can play the 2026 season at a cost of $780,000 (league minimum) for the new team. The Phillies are still on the hook for the bulk of this final year of his contract. His performance has really fallen off a cliff in recent times, though.
