BREAKING: Astros Made a SURPRISING TRADE!? White Sox Embarrassing Themselves Again, New MLB Rules

The Blue Jays and Astros swapped outfielders, with Toronto sending Joey Loperfido back to Houston for Jesús Sánchez (who brings power, speed, and corner-outfield defense but hits lefties poorly and is owed ~$6.8M). The Orioles signed veteran starter Chris Bassitt to a one-year, $18.5M deal for rotation depth and innings. The Phillies released Nick Castellanos (still owed $20M after his 2025 drama, including a beer-in-dugout incident and poor defense), making him a free agent for a potential low-cost bat/DH role. The Nationals added Miles Mikolas on a one-year, ~$2.25M deal (plus bonuses) as a durable innings-eater for rotation depth. The Angels re-signed utilityman Chris Taylor (Enrique Hernández) to a minor-league pact. MLB also confirmed stricter 2026 rules for base coaches (stay in box until pitch thrown) and extra ABS challenges in extras.

  1. In defense of the white Sox gm, I also make the mistake of picking Luis Angel-Acuna because I keep thinking he’s a switch hitter in MLB the show. Idk why, but I keep doing it…but I’m also not a GM

  2. Here within a hour that year kind of surprised me because the blue jays couldn’t find room for and in return they get a older player in the same position

  3. Loperfido was rarely used by the Jays and was very much a platoon option if there were any injuries or rest needed. I didn't see enough of him to draw any conclusions. I think Sanchez is definitely an upgrade on Loperfido in a platoon situation and a good option to have if anything happens to Varsho in center, which he does get banged up here and there.

  4. Zero concern about Acuña being a right handed hitter, instead of a switch hitter. Main concern is whether he proves he can play or not. What I'm saying is that this doesn't really impact Acuña's potential value to the Sox. Their likely lineup rotation leans a bit to the left-handed side anyway. Doesn't make it a good thing that Getz seemed to be unaware that Acuña wasn't a switch hitter, it's just that it doesn't specifically change his potential value to the Sox.

  5. AL East is gonna be crazy this year. Well, for everyone but the Yankees since they are the only ones who havent made any moves. No, i do not include Ryan Weathers as a "move" for a team like the Yankees.
