[Johnston] The New York Rangers claim Tye Kartye off waivers from Seattle

  1. LMAO: I saw this mentioned on here earlier today and low and behold here we go. Another Bottom 6 forward for Drury’s infinity glove. The retool is toolin!

  2. Happy with this. Young, risk-free pickup. If he grows, we have a roster piece or a trade chip. If he doesn’t we didn’t give anything up for him.

  3. Only thing I know about this kid is that he made his NHL debut in the playoffs a few years ago and scored his first professional goal against Georgiev. Future trivia question right there lol.

  4. Drury collects low event pointless depth players like infinity stones. His gauntlet of losers.

  5. Ahh, the Kraken to Rangers pipeline remains open, I see.

Welcome, Karts. Saw him play quite a bit here in Seattle.

  6. Serious questions: Waiver claim means he has to come straight to the 23-man roster, no minors assignment. Were there previous moves to account for his spot? Also, a claim drops a team to the end of the waiver priority list. Does that drop factor into the decision?

EDIT: welp, I see Othmann was sent down, so there’s one question answered.
