It is interesting to see that even though the Blues are in next to last place record-wise that the team is holding it's own for attendance. If it is to be believed, the Blues rank 13th worst percentage capacity-wise.

  1. People show up for bad teams in STL as long as the players and ownership are earnestly trying their best.

If they stop putting in the work start taking attendance for granted, fans notice and enthusiasm dies.

  2. Yeah. It’s a good hockey town. I will watch a losing team because I’m a fan and I watch hockey…BUT I also want a sense that the team has a plan even if they suck right now. When Bill Laurie threw his hissy fit and sold the team, the Blues were ass and had no direction. But when JD took over, they had a clear plan to get younger and better, and we saw Oshie, Perron, Petro, etc. It was clear the Blues were on the right path. THAT is the most important thing. I think we all know this team is gonna suck for a bit, but if you trade Faulk, Schenn, etc. and build for a future, we as fans are fine with that. We’ve already got Dvorsky and Snuggerraud, and we are only gonna add to it with another top 10 pick plus whatever else we get at deadline. Plus I have faith ownership will spend to the cap and not cheap out.

  3. Was on a rabbit hole search the other day because I’m curious about the Sabres, and found out that despite not making the playoffs for so many years their attendance stay at almost full house until Covid. Honestly respected their fans for sticking to their team after so many bad years. On the other hand, the Panthers have one of the worst attendance ever over the years until they won their cup when they finally got enough band wagon fans to fill up their stadium.
