2. Perry pickup would be clutch! Watched the Kings vs Avs game the other night.

   The ageless wonder hasn't lost his touch. It was a one goal game and Kings had him out there in the last minute 6 on 5 trying for the tie (of which their new guy Panarin killed their chances with a brutal giveaway)

   Perry's still making smart plays in offensive zone – he's always dangerous with the puck there and he's so quick too he is like Drai: in tight situations just as he gets the puck it is off his stick so fast the defensemen rarely can react or predict where he's going with it; it's often a creative play like a no look pass to the tape of an open guy for example.

   He was also making great break out and neutral zone passes.

   That said, he is still slow and it's a bit nailbiting to watch him in defensive zone. But that was what we got from him last year; he's not terrible in dzone it's just that fast offensive players will routinely skate circles around him. But he plays in position and often will make sneaky intercepts and again his breakout/zone exit plays are always smart it's just getting/retrieving the puck in that zone is difficult for any 40 y/o.

   He would be an excellent playoff add and can fit right back in like a glove with McDrai in key situations or PP1 or have him boost your PP2 if you want to keep Hymen on PP1 (last playoffs Perry was PP1 and Hymen was PP2 for a reason)

3. Every team could have had Mangiapane for nothing the other day. So the first rd pick to get rid of Mangiapane, get a Dickinson at 50% and a young forward. I think that not bad.

4. Both players are gritty and Dickinson is incredible on the PK and faceoffs. Dach will fight too and he’s quite good

5. I'm sorry, but you have McDavid and Leon Draisaitl in their absolute prime contending window and worried about some mid to late round draft pick. What? To sure up penalty kill and defense? It's about cups right now not some mid level pick.

6. Tyler, the first round pick got rid of Mangiapane contract in full and 50% retain on Dickinson and you get Dach.

7. Props to Mangiapane for allowing the move. You'd think getting 2 guys from the best pk will have instant chemistry, something that's always in question when getting rentals.

8. Just a mess. Has anyone in Oiler Nation every played any hockey. I doubt it very much. Maybe you haven't watched these guys play stating that they are good defensively. Dickinson 6 goals -6, Dach 3 goals -15, So you basically got yourself another what? Connor Brown. god help us. I hope when Connor leaves that he takes Jackson and Bowman with him. Liam stick to soccer you know nothing.

9. Barclay Goodrow for a 1st in 2020 to TB before their cup. Looks like a similar deal to me.

10. I like the trade because it’s safe. Dickinson will play 4th line C and win key faceoffs. I also think there’s something else out there. Dach is big and plays with an edge. The team just got a lot tougher. We gotta wait to judge on Friday.

I think if Oilers actually had 1st rounder on table you don't think leafs would have Scott Laughton available an a course other pieces involved? Curious what Oilers Fans or any Leaf Fans think. 20. the hawks have the best pk in the nhl this season. the oilers just acquired two of the hawks top pk players in murphy and dickinson. both are great locker room (character) guys as well.

27. Hawks fan here, Dickenson and Murphy were key members of the Hawks No 1 penalty kill. Dickenson will be a coach or G.M. One day, Murphy is a great teammate and human being.Murphy will get a standing ovation when he comes back to Chicago.

Colton Dach, hometown kid , huge and lives to hit , also a much needed missing element on the Oil !! Mangiapane’s salary is dumped and a much needed defensive Dman in Murphy with size and character has been added !!! 3 bigger defensive players that all bring exactly what is needed !!! Well done Bowman !! Finally got rid of Mangia to Open Up These Trades
