…at practice.
So first, a Rece Hinds fun fact- his middle name is Xola, which means “be peaceful.”
But here’s the deal. I commented on it in the postgame thread, but what you have to keep in mind about Hinds is that he can smash bad pitching. He’s more than proven it. To be able to level up and stick to being a major leaguer, he has to show he can hit good pitching as well, which he hasn’t really done at all yet.
I saw Terry talk about it with CES yesterday, but it applies to Hinds as well. These guys need to build habits that will translate to success in the big leagues, not just swing away and feast on AAA level pitching when they’re in Louisville.
The ball was moving so fast it couldn’t be caught on camera
I hope he sticks with the major league club! He has some good power and ability to get hot…but just hasn’t been able to stick it in the big leagues because of consistency and strikeouts
He has a had a great spring and he’ll likely get another chance in the bigs….but he is going to have to be way more consistent to stick.
Title is wrong. I watched it 3 times with 3 unique camera angles in one video posted by the official Reds account.
