23. No immediate response from the team after the hit makes you wonder if Auston has lost the room also as captain. He's a goal scorer. Not a captain. Johnny Toronto should still be captain. Auston would be much better with less pressure.

24. Gudass is worthy of a long suspension. I wouldn't have that deranged headcase on my team. It is against Toronto, so we know the NHL will respond with "he is a good guy and if it happens again we will not hesitate to give the Leafs more penalties'. We have seen this attitude all season long. NHL does not call penalties on the team playing the Leafs. They are refusing to protect Auston Mathews for some reason.

25. The fact that Gudas was able to skate around freely after that dirty hit is the bigger story. On any other team, Gudas gets swarmed and dealt with. On the Leafs? He's skating around admiring his work while the Leaf captain is down on the ice. What an embarrassing hockey team the Leafs are.

    Today's NHL is so weak, and the Leafs are the poster boys of this weakness. They let Gudas skate off the ice unchallenged.

31. Outshot and outplayed again…Leaders lead. They take action, make smart, bold decisions…daily. They do not make the same tired excuses daily. This team has been a mess for long time now. The GM, coach are responsible for this. They get a paid a lot of money to succeed, move forward. This team was young, fast, hungry not long ago. Its now old, slow, and tired looking….no passion, no hunger. If the GM was truly paying attention, the coach should have been fired, 20, 30 games ago. We could have made the playoffs, tweaked the lineup and finished on a positive note. This was not done. The team tuned out the coach a long time ago. No push back, passion…embarrassing to watch. The lines were never given a chance to gel. Disconnected from the start of the year. Poor Cowan. Roy was an overpaid slow pylon….wow. Older injured players signed to long term deals….not smart at all. You do not have the right people in charge. You need passionate, loyal, die hard leaf for life people. All with one goal, being on the same page, getting better daily…..on the way to winning a cup. What a i see is a whole bunch of yes sir, yes sir people doing a terrible job. It took forever to get rid of that terrible PP coach….even though the numbers, facts said otherwise…..What a mess.

34. This is a great coach I think it’s certain players in the team that either need to smarten up or move on and let spots be filled with good talented key players

35. The captain gets taken out and suddenly they care about winning a game?????? Berube has gone totally soft. Someone should have taken Gudas out immediately. Then it should have been open season on the Ducks star players. I hope this woke Matthews up. Hopefully he comes to his senses and walks in the summer. The Leafs are an absolute garbage organization.

36. I’ve seen enough of Brandon Carlo, I can’t believe we traded a 1st and Minton for someone’s who won’t even go after the opposition for taking down your captain, anyone could have helped Matthews get to the bench your job Brandon was to get in Gudas face

38. I have no doubt Berube lost his mind in the dressing room and ripped them all a new one. I would like to think that the players might start to get it now, what it takes to win in the NHL, a few might, but I have doubts about the rest of the figure skkaters on this team. Shameful response.
