Just in: The NBA will hold a vote at the Board of Governors meetings March 24-25 to explore adding expansion teams exclusively in Las Vegas and Seattle, with the two franchises targeted for the 2028-29 season, sources tell ESPN. There is momentum for stakeholders to approve surveying what industry executives project will be bids in the $7-to-$10 billion range for each team.

It's almost like… the threat of relocation was BS from the beginning. Shocker!

  1. It’ll be pretty cool to watch Blazers turnovers on the road so close to home.

  2. Wasnt there a reported contingency last summer of owners led by Dolan against expansion? Im curious how the vote will shake out. Really hope it passes

  3. I hate Seattle the city and Seattle sports but fuck OKC the team and their incredibly annoying fans who didn’t know basketball existed until 2009. I’ll go to an OKC game in Seattle to boo and support an actual basketball city with actual basketball history and culture.

  4. If they’re really planning for the expansion teams tipping off in 28–29, there are some interesting implications for us. Pretty sizable expansion draft, and we have the Bucks’ swap and Memphis’ first in 28 so however they decide to allocate draft picks to the new teams will be key.

It also might mean two more bad teams in the mix for 29, when we currently have 2 first rounders (ours and Bucks).
