  1. Between the Armani suits, the espresso shots in the dugout following home runs, “Time to Say Goodbye” as their victory song and the approximately 10 billion references to The Sopranos that they’ve enabled, Italy is one of my favorite national teams of all time in any spot. They’ve been incredibly fun to watch.

  2. Godly showing by Venezuela’s pen in the knockouts. Special run from Italy. Hoping for a classic in the final

  3. My only rooting interest is “whichever outcome is less likely to cause an international incident”

  4. Bottom 9 of a 4-2 game.

“Hitting a home run does nothing, but a base hit brings the tying run to the plate”

    Masterful announcing right there.

  5. I know I seem pedantic but I genuinely don’t understand why so many are pretending this is an unexpected final or a Cinderella Story.

Venezuela was the fourth team with the highest odds to win the WBC and has always been a baseball powerhouse.

  6. The difference for DR and Venezuela between this game and yesterdays’s was one clutch inning where they were able to string together hits. Something DR couldn’t manage to do

  7. This is the best baseball I’ve ever watched in 36 years of life. These teams are so fucking good. I love it.
