What the Pirates starting rotation will look like the first time through

Booo. Was looking to go to home opener and was hoping for a Skenes game
Didn’t they just announce Mlodzinski for home opener
I like mlodzinski out of the pen a lot more, but worth a shot giving him a few turns as the 5 starter. More upside than clevinger or urquidy
Urquidy goes to bullpen or?
Praying that the Mlod starts turn into more of a Mlod+Clevinger start. I can’t be subjected to watching Carmen go through the order for the 3rd time anymore
No Hunter?
If they’re thinking of trying last season’s Mlodzinski experiment where he’s an actual starter and tries to go 5 – 7 innings/3 times through an order, someone should be fired into the sun.
If they’re thinking of using him for 3 innings and then pairing him with a real starter who’ll be on an innings limit (Jones, Barco, etc.) so you don’t have to worry about making a decision to shut one of them down in a playoff race, it’s probably a good idea. Not going to dig through stats at the moment for actual numbers, but opponents hit like .005 against Mlodzinski his first time facing an order and then everyone turns into Aaron Judge around the 4th inning.
I imagine Mlodzinski will be more of an “opener” than a regular starter. Did they say whether Clevinger or Barco won the last bullpen spot?
I think the most interesting thing to watch here will be how they treat him… is he a starter that gets a fifth or sixth inning, or is he piggybacked by Clevinger or Urquidy after 3 or 4?
This just feels like a huge waste, even if he’s just filling that spot until Jones is ready for May or June
We know what he is as a starter. He’s so much more valuable in the bullpen
