ESPN analyst Benjamin Solak on the best Vikings free agency signing: “the Murray deal. Of course I did. It’s the best signing of any team this cycle. Murray on a veterans minimum contract ($1.3 million) does more than just provide the Vikings with desperately needed cap relief as they unspool their aggressive spending of the past few offseasons. It also gives them a playoff-caliber quarterback.”

  1. Pat, he's going to have to learn how to play under Center something he can't do. He's not good at it. That's what O'Connell's offense is and I'm pretty sure O'Connell is not going to put in a shotgun

  2. Think about it. If he doesn't study this playbook and learn how to play under Center, he's not going to make it. So he's going to have to focus on that playbook and not playing call of duty all night I play video games. I don't play video games all night because I know I won't be on top of my game when I go to work

  3. Playoff caliber QB? He got smashed in his only appearance and always injured. Where you were drafted or being drafted in an irrelevant sport means nothing. He's an athlete that probably won't finish the season healthy and should be considered a bust at this point…. still better than Mccarthy 1000%.

  4. Someone pretending to be an analysts who defines a QB who has played in one playoff game in 7 years which he lost as a “playoff caliber QB”, is utterly hilarious! What the “best move” rationale doesn’t take into account is that had the Vikings not signed KM, for all the well documented reasons, then they likely would have signed AR or DC, and that would then have been the most heralded, best move, likely putting the Vikings in line for a deep run in the playoffs next season. Saying it is the best move because it only cost 1.3 million also shows a lack of awareness because both DC & AR would have signed similar bargain basement deals. So if the Vikings don’t advance to the NFC championship which would have likely been the result this past season had the two morons running the team resigned SD, then next season should also be defined as a failure and KM should then be categorized as a bad signing if they don’t make it to the NFC championship game. The problem is that content creators won’t define what constitutes a failure, and or they move the goal posts. Patrick, you constantly defined a wild card loss as a failure when it was other QB’s you weren’t supporting, but now that they signed the midget QB that was the apple of your eye, you won’t define what failure looks like, and this has to be based on not signing SD, DC, or AR!

  5. Once you are eliminated from the playoffs, you need to focus on the next season. The Vikings beat terrible football teams and the 3rd string Packers the last game of the season. Awesome. NOT!

  6. I live in AZ and a Vikings fan. Kyler was a tool here however the Cardinal ownership might be a bigger tool so hopefully the Vikings present a better option for him. Unfortunately i have lost faith in the Wilf's. They spend time on ridiculous distractions around the organization far more than great hiring and putting full focus on winning a Super Bowl.
