He threw Mike under the bus big time. Coach McDaniel did one hell of a job calling a game with a limited QB. You can tell the the Head Coach was a nice guy and he gave Tua every opportunity to go to the next level even at his own detriment. Truthfully McDaniel probably only got the job because he said he could fix Tua and he did fix the one he inherited which was the mentally broke version. Unfortunately that Tua got hurt bad multiple times and it undid all the confidence building done earlier. You can rebuild a player who has the shanks or yips as it's called in other sports but you can't fix someone's lack of confidence because their body is betraying them and that's why Tua would be a good back up but you can never trust him with a long term contract again. No GM will attach their name to that, it's too risky
Remember this Tua crap was all caused under Ross’s decisions using Grier to run all these hit&miss moves that ended up on the injured reserve list. Don’t forget, ever since Ross took over we’ve never gotten close to a playoff win. Too many Primadonnas and BoyToys on this team for the ????

I disagree with Joe's take. There's no reason to believe Tua was talking specifically about McDaniel since there are usually 15 to 25 coaches on an NFL team. SOMETHING was obviously wrong with the culture of the team. And it's not a coincidence that almost every player who left the Dolphins the last three years have said players don't really respect the head coach.
If somehow he gets the starting gig in Atlanta, it will be because Penix isn’t healthy enough. Then once he shits himself enough on the field after his first read is taken away and there’s a defender within 10ft of him, he’ll be on the bench with the same giggly smile he’s had since he got paid, cause he doesn’t give a shit about his team.
