  1. That was a beyond awful showing from Seymour. Jax will get the loss, and that was a really bad pitch in a really bad spot. Honestly easiest homerun that guy has ever hit. Both Jax and Cleavinger should share the blame.

But the loss should really go to Seymour.

    What a meltdown holy shit.

And fuck MLB for this scheduling. Why the hell is there a day off tomorrow? Who the fuck schedules a day off after the first game of the season in the middle of the opening series??

  2. That wasn’t fun but this team is destined for 5th place so don’t get too hopping mad. We have a rotation with Nick Martinez and Joe Boyle in it and the bullpen is barren. It’s probably not gonna be much prettier than this on average in the near future.

The lineup actually isn’t too abysmal I think, Williamson looks pretty good and Diaz and Aranda are picking up where they left off. So it shouldn’t be TOO brutal of a losing season all things considered

  3. We had a shot at the end, despite an absolute masterclass of terrible bullpen pitching.

    Future is bright.

Bullpen is booty cheeks. Except for Winn. He alright.

  4. It was the best of times, [then] it was the worst of times.

Still happy baseball is back, though.

  5. The only way I’m not completely disappointed is Aaron Judge earning some golden headwear last night. Otherwise..woof.

  6. Outside of the disgusting 6th it honestly wasnt all that bad, we got tons of baserunners but just couldnt convert. Tbh we got sunk by a stinker from one guy, but not how youd like to open up the year

  7. Our bullpen may be ass, but I am looking at our offense with pride. Díaz, Aranda, Caminero, and Williams all had good showings today. Today was proof of the fear that the name La Maxima brings

  8. It’s like checking the groundhog for winter. Do something with bases loaded game on the line: we’ve got a season ahead of us. Do nothing and leave 16 on base: its gonna be a long winter

  9. Damn it Seymour. It was going so well too. Bad start to the season, but at least we’re scoring!!!

  10. Bullpen Trust Rankings:

    1. Englert

    2. Sulser

    3. Baker

    4. Gomez

    5. Cleavinger

    6. Kelly

    7. Jax

    8. Seymour

  11. The only thing to take from this game is Junior’s plate discipline is so much better this season. And this ain’t going off just this game, but also the WCB and ST where he was able to lay off so much more stuff that he would previously swing at.

  12. The good ole -.— ERA from Seymour. He must’ve done pretty well if he broke math right?

  13. Coming from an overreaction game 1 observation. This bullpen. It didn’t take long for them to remind everyone that it was a weakness for the Rays last year down the stretch. If there’s a reason why the Rays end up winning 75-80 games this year, *this* will be a big reason why. They need to bring some confidence back to this part of the team in these next few months.

  14. I guess taking out Ben Williamson was a good idea after he’s 3 for 4 ab because of the matchup. Dudes hot let em cook! sometimes cash makes some questionable calls.

  15. You can’t lose after leading 7-1. You just can’t. Seymour is not ready – send him down
