  5. Dude’s fuckin 70+ years old. Let the new generation (in a different sport) have their time man. Not like this guy is selling merch or anything, so I don’t get why he would have any objection at all. If anything, he could have been cool about it and done something with Caleb. Think like a passing of the torch type situation, but noooo his old ass is clinging to a name that hasn’t represented him in 30+ years.

  13. I feel like Disney might step in and get the name for Marvel. No way will Disney write a check every time they have to use it in any marvel movie, show, or comic.

  14. Lol Caleb Williams is an idiot if he wants to be called the Iceman considering it’s well known to be one of the most iconic NBA nicknames of all time. Caleb Williams is also nowhere near good enough to deserve that nickname when it belongs to George fucking Gervin. Kid should pick an original nickname, especially if he wants to trademark one

  20. I know we all love Caleb and I like Braggs but that tweet is a little petulant for my tastes. As are some of the responses in here. 

    I think it’s important to recognize Caleb has had this nickname for like six months and 5 games. 

    He may very well be able to get the trademark and that’s cool, I don’t really care who wins that legal wrangling. 

    There IS an incredibly talented athlete who had a 20 year career with that name and Braggs position that Caleb’s has the same gravitas as Gervin’s at this point is a bit disingenuous.
