The Rockets and Timberwolves played last night in a MASSIVE game for playoff seeding…and there were some MASSIVE takeaways for both teams in the aftermath of the biggest overtime collapse in NBA history.

  1. They got what they wanted trading for KD, went from a young up and coming team, to a team that everyone is wanting to trade the rest of the young players lol, can't believe anyone thought KD was the answer, horrible trade!

  2. Let me tell ya, if there is any value left in KD for any team, they need to find it fast in the off season. He doesn’t have a no trade clause, deal em!

  3. wtf r u talking about skap
you predicted a few months ago, the rockets are going to the finals, stop putting your foot in your mouth

  4. Rate this trade for next season

    Rockets receive
    kawhi Leonard
    Kris Dunn
    Derrick jones jr

    Clippers receive
    Dorian finney smith
    Jabari smith
    Tari Eason sign and trade
    Clint Capella
    Brooklyn 2027 swap
    2031 first round pick

Rockets get a aging superstar on an expiring deal, that they need to space the floor and take attention off of KD and he’s an amazing defender, he’s the perfect player they need, Derrick jones jr is an excellent wing defender off the bench and he’s a on a good expiring deal to make salary work, the only guard off the bench for rockets is Reed Sheppard who is great offensively but has limitations defensively so Kris dunn can give you good defense off the bench

This would be the team in the 2026-2027 season

    Point guard Fred van fleet
    Shooting guard kawhi Leonard
    Small forward Kevin Durant
    Power forward Amen Thompson
    Center Alperen sengun

    Bench
    Point guard Reed Sheppard
    Shooting guard Kris Dunn
    Small forward Derick jones jr
Power forward, whoever they sign in free agency, most likely veteran minimum
    Center Steven Adams

    Yeah an elite team

The impact Reed Sheppard and Steven Adams give this team is unreal and there coming off the bench, Kd is still gonna be a top 20 player and it’s safe to say Kawhi is top 15 and this season top 4-6 and Alperen sengun is a good all star caliber player who can get better, amen Thompson and Fred vanfleet and borderline all stars

Reed Sheppard can take another leap and so can amen

    Why clippers do this trade

They get 1 solid young player
    1 good young role player
3 and D coming off a down year
    A center they need
A guaranteed good 1st round pick
    2031 first round pick

The reason they only get 2 first is because all 3 players are on expiring deals and Kawhi will be 35, I think this is a win win trade

  5. DURANT JUST KEEPS EXPOSING HIMSELF AS TO WHY OKC VALUED RUSS MORE..KD BADLY WANTS TO BE THE MAN, BUT TIME AND TIME AGAIN SHOWED US HE CAN NOT LEAD A TEAM.

  6. Skap. Any chance you can cover the 2018 shot clock rule change for offensive boards? Teams no longer get a fresh 24 but instead 14. That’s almost half the time and I think it’s the big game changer that nobody is talking about. People already hated the NBA before this implementation but even then the high scoring epidemic wasn’t this bad.

  7. yeah..T Wolfs are dangerous always..they had beat all best teams I guess at least once OKC, Denver, Huston, SAS, Boston, NY…so no one should write them off

  8. I don’t understand how theses stats make Jokics defense look even decent. Don’t get me wrong I am a Jokic glazer but watching teams just go head first into the paint and him doing nothing hurts. It’s clear that advanced stats don’t always show the full picture when you see teams constantly target him

  9. Despite the numbers, I feel I’d be more concerned to go against TWolves with Ant tho 🤔
I mean if the impact is so negative there would be a discussion in just replacing him?

  10. Hey Skap,

can you please do a video on these r@cist pundits dismissing Luka for not playing defence when he has far & away more steals than JB & SGA…

Not only totals but steals per game too…

  11. To be fair, they managed 52 wins in a western conference without strong Lakers, healthy Nuggets and really strong Spurs last year.

So dropping down a bit from that simply because your competition has gotten so strong is to be expected.

He even made them better for some time, but defense can figure him out over the course of a season, his low ball IQ doesn't help in these situations – he simply is no No.1 option for a contender anymore, and one could argue that he never was. Russ was better than him in ye olden OKC days and Curry was prime Curry in ye olden GSW days. KD didn't really sniff contention anywhere else.

His claim to fame today is delivering efficient 25 points on average – the top guys just blew by him in recent years delivering almost 35 points on average on top of 8-15 assists every game. He never could do that, direct some form of good offense while still being efficient.

When a pure scorer puts up subpar scoring numbers to guys orchestrating every play of their offense ON TOP OF scoring more points on average, what is his niche even supposed to be nower days? Commentary made it a point to celebrate a 30point of his recently…really? 30 points once in a game being an achievement for a pure scorer in today's 'Bam83', 'Luka averaging 40 over 6 games' NBA, that's what some folks would want us to believe?

And even if his game were enough today, it seems his personality is guaranteed to antagonise any group he is a part of, so his teams always end up bereft of joy, playing one of the worst team balls in the league. He really didn't give us / me something to root for these past few years.

  12. when KD joins a team the record gets worse, when he joined the 73-9 warriors they won 67 games, when he joined the suns there record got a lot worse, and this year rockets are worse. The only exceptions is the nets.

  13. I’m gonna go ahead and call it like I see it. Kevin Durant might be one of the most overrated players in the history of basketball. I’m not sure he was ever as good as the jock sniffing, biased media made it sound like he was. He’s basically the modern day George Gavin. The only difference is that George Gervin didn’t run to Larry Bird or Magic Johnson in a desperate attempt to collect a ring or two. I’m not even sure he was ever a number one option? His time in Brooklyn is probably the only period of time in his career where he was clearly the number one option, and I’m not sure he would’ve been that if James Harden hadn’t been injured for most of that time? I think the NBA was desperate to make him a superstar and that’s why he’s a two-time finals MVP. I’ll give him credit for performing in those two Golden State post season runs, (kind of helps when the greatest shooting back court in the history of the game, in their prime, gets you open looks just about every possession) but you take those away and he’s basically James Harden in the playoffs. George Gervin in the regular season and James Harden in the playoffs… from now on, I will refer to Kevin Durant as James Gervin.
