Sheel Seidler responded to ProlificSD reply about Padres potential sale of going up to $3.5 billion
ProlificSD: Peter didn’t just know his own worth — he saw the true potential of Petco Park and believed the fans would rise to meet it. He trusted this city, invested in its future, and delivered on a bold promise. Thank you, Peter Seidler.
Sheel Seidler: Facts. Peter literally told me he watched 84 World Series and was blown away by the passionate fan base (said he’d seen nothing like it before….) and said this city’s fan base passion was a sleeping giant that needed only to be awoken with an excellent product on the field that was as hungry for a championship….that synergy was always our North Star…🤎💛🙏🏽

If we win the World Series I will passion all over the streets
So 84 had more aura than 98?
Rip papa p
We were there, the passion is real. Still waiting to drive around honking the horn screaming out that we are the WINNER!
sometimes it just takes one person to actually believe and push it forward
All those great Chargers teams and the Padres were first to a championship game/series. People were surprised by that just because the Padres, though ascending since about ‘78, were mostly not good. The fan base in San Diego was a lot more local then and was SOOOO ready. Crazy, rabid, electric. This makes me so happy that Pete saw this and recognized the potential here. What a great man. RIP
Dammit why can’t we ever keep good things in this city? RIP Papa Pete.
84 was so much fun. Cub-Busters, Wiggins being awesome, T being T, the Dodger rat’s HR, and Goose as one of my favorite pitchers ever. That team was so much fun to watch. The town exploded in Padres fever.
