  8. She was great tonight and stadium videos will show it, the broadcast mix is the issue now — hopefully that gets fixed so she doesn’t keep getting undeserved criticism.

  29. If it’s not nerves that she’s experiencing… I think we need a more athletic person for the trumpet. She sounds out of breath and out of tune. There’s no punch to it. I hope she gets through it, but won’t be surprised if she gets replaced soon.

    People on the baseball sub are saying the trumpet player is terrible and there’s a million pros in LA that would do better. Not sure I get it but they’re killing her.

  43. In recent years, no one in the Dodgers has had an aura quite like this guy. When that music plays, it just feels different. Let’s go for that Dodgers three-peat.

  44. Hi, actual musician here. Tatiana Tate has performed with Lizzo, Boys 2 Men, and Michael Bolton; she’s much better than angry people on social media think, which is usually the case with angry people on social media.

    I think there were some nerves in yesterday’s performance, not to mention getting used to the weather which at that hour is always going to make a horn play a bit flat. Led to a few fracks, but it happens to the best of us.

    I definitely agree that today’s rendition was better, and I’m all for riffing on those grace notes. I like her flair and style, but I don’t really think the low notes cut through the crowd noise. Whether that’s an issue for the boards to adjust or for Tatiana to consider when improving, I’m not quite sure. She’s got a jazz, funk, and soul background, so yeah, not going to be hitting that Mariachi style like many of us in LA probably would have liked, but that’s okay. Different styles are just different styles.

    I hope the Dodgers keep calling her back and I’ll be hyped every time I see her walk out (oh and also hyped for Edwin. I’d forgotten what it was like not to be nervous when a closer takes the field…)

  46. Tonight was my first game of the season and it was so amazing to hear the trumpet! Such a great game!

  47. I forgot what it felt like to have a shutdown closer and have no anxiety when he comes in, in a 1 run game.
